Do I need to be friendly to the opposing team?

So i'm usually a friendly guy to my teammates but i love a little trash talk against the other team but lately people keep saying they'll report me. like im not being racist or abusing them, im literally just trash talking. is that a reportable offense and if so why? Isnt trash talk just a part of competition. like i understand negativity and being an asshole to ur teammates. but why is trash talk considered reportable amongst the community.

"Dude, you're trash." is not OK.

"You can't milk those!" is OK.

You don’t have to be friendly, and trash talk is okay.

Flaming, abuse, or harassment is not okay.

I mean, you can trash talk, but that just shows A) that you are not good enough to win without tilting them B ) that you have a lame necessity of feeling superior to others.

It's a fine line. A certain amount of trash talk is, but don't let it become harassment. Imagine you have a limit of 2 times per match, save them for your best plays.

I disagree wholeheartedly that "trash talk [is] just a part of competition".

Among all sorts of competition that I've engaged in in my life, the leeway to talk trash has always been very slim. It's a mistake to assume that professionals get away with it. Unsportsmanlike Conduct penalties in American football and Technical Fouls in basketball are two of the worst penalties you can receive in their respective sports.

Ribbing one's opponent before or after a game on camera is completely different.

You are better to not even speak to them. They're not going to be friendly to you anyways.

Stuff like "Nice flash Ez" is okay, as long as you don't do it in excess. Don't use zero tolerance words/directly insult the person behind the screen though.
