The system punishes you based on consistency x severity. This chat itself is mild, meaning that you are punished for consistent toxicity.

The reform card does a bad job at showing you the whole punishment story, as it only shows you 1-5 recent games as examples of unacceptable behavior. Doesn't mean you were punished for this game alone.

You can ask player support at https://support.riotgames.com to give you the number of valid reports you received that were considered for this punishment. That number would surprise you.

BTW, during tribunal days, people that show consistent mild toxicity were still punished. Nothing has changed since then.

There’s a difference between doing poorly because you’re playing an off role and doing poorly because you don’t care. It’s not why you were banned, but I wouldn’t advise telling your teammates that you’re not even trying (which is what it sounds like) as it’s super demoralizing. There’s nothing wrong with playing a champ you aren’t good at in a role you aren’t good at because that’s how you improve (plus trying new things can be fun). It’s just how you word things.

You weren't banned for that, you were penalized. You were banned for being consistently toxic. Not for just one game.

The system is doing just fine.
