System For Notifying A Penalization on Honor Progression

Could there be a possibility of implementing a warning system in the future to notify summoners to understand and acknowledge when they are being penalized for honor (i.e. slowed honor progression as a result of violation of the ToS). So they can fix it earlier on, before getting a more severe penalty?

A system to notify a penalization (even if minor) would, overall, create a more self-aware and positive community. With the current system, many people are frustrated due to the fact they don't understand why they are stuck/progressing very slowly in honor level.

There used to be a warning notification for people who were getting reported a lot. So they could encourage the player to improve their attitude. They should have that again, my friends found it helpful.

Yeah, that really should be in game already. Not sure why it seems Riot wants to keep information regarding your own punishments secret from you.

Fully agree. I have several friends who believe 100% that their chat is positive and unreportable, and they can't figure out why they're taking so long to repair their honor standings.

Examples:

  • Questioning allies' ranks when they make a bad judgment call. "Why would that be reported?" "You just insulted his ability to play and make decisions by calling out his rank." "What?! No, nobody reports for that."
  • Making racist jokes in /all chat. "I didn't call him black, I just made a joke about black people." "That's bannable." "Why? I wasn't insulting him."
  • Announcing gg after the first turret is lost and spamming /ff on cooldown. "The game's lost, there's no point in continuing." "No, learn to play from behind and that's a normal recovery. You're just forcing us into a 4v5 or worse when you make it clear you don't want to help the team anymore." "We just can't win, /ff already."

People often have no self-awareness and can't understand that what they are doing is getting them reported, so the longer they remain ignorant, the more confused and upset they get that their honor levels aren't improving.

In my opinion this needs to be a feature, especially since they are now placing a heavy emphasis on the honor system by trying season rewards from ranked to the honor system.

Riot doesn't want people to approach toxicity proactively.

If you are negative, it will slow or stall. If this doesn’t describe your chat, then write a support ticket.
