Rank Matches and Leavers

Greetings,

I have a concern as a relatively new League player, one year ongoing, regarding rank matches and leavers. It is unfortunate that I am experiencing difficulties ranking up as a support main simply over losing matches because one of the following occurs: Rage Quit or Legitimate Disconnection. I understand there is a reporting system in place for leaving the game; however, I think that should only apply to rage quitters who go about venting in chat. In these circumstances, the match quickly shifts toward a major disadvantage when the rank match is now 4 vs 5 and either way, the opposing team is most likely to win.

If a disconnection occurs early such as during the loading screen, then the option to /remake appears and both teams neither lose or gain LP to rank up. Once the time passes for the /remake, then it is lost one way or the other because the team can either surrender or continue to try to prevail a win against a 4 vs 5 matchups. It is unfair to the rest of the team that we all share receiving a lost in hard earn LP in rank matches due to a disconnected player. Furthermore, it is more than likely for a player to leave during solo/duo queue rank matches as I personally experienced it in 3 back-to-back matches. I have reached my threshold limit and will no longer play League until this problem is addressed.

I will admit that League has an awesome reporting system to encourage players to remain in the game and be on their best behavior. It helps to curve toxic behavior and keep a relatively good community. Despite what I have said, the unfairness in losing LP due to a player disconnection or leaving the game is unjust, and I believe that something has to be done beyond the reporting system for a player leaving that I would consider fair for the rest of the losing team.

**My Two Proposals: ** I understand that /remake during any parts of the game due to a player disconnection can be abused to avoid the losing and winning team from losing and gaining LP in a rank match.

  1. Half LP lost for the losing team which will still help leverage the full burden of a losing the match.
  2. The player who leaves will receive double LP lost

**The Other Option: ** This option is great as it will encourage the team with the disconnected player to try to see if they win against a 4 vs 5 and not surrender so early. If the opposing team defeats the team before the 10 minutes mark, then it will be considered a full lost and LP will be lost.

  1. A 10 minutes countdown timer occurs for the disconnected player to return. Once the time ends, then the team may surrender without losing LP and the opposing team gains LP as the winner.
  2. The disconnected player will receive double LP lost

Easily abused.
