There's a fine line between defending yourself and stooping to their level, and unfortunately you crossed it. You could have just as easily said "Can you guys lay off and focus on the game?"(/something along those lines) or just muted them.

You don't get to complain about someone breaking the rules and then do it yourself, sorry.

That's not defending yourself, at best most of that is retaliation if what you're claiming is true (that they were harassing you).

Mute them if you don't want to see their chat anymore. Insulting them back doesn't prevent them from further harassing you.

Option 1. Don't tell people they're bad, it just puts you off as toxic, even if it is true. Option 2. Mute them All. Option 3. Don't say anything aggressive, you could take your own advice and "shut up and play"

Sucks to see this happen to yet another person on the boards. The punishing system is fucked. Got people that defend themselves scared they will get banned too. That's the thing with the punishing system, it doesn't consider who you are talking to, what they are doing and who they are with. I have never used the spectating system that much for other people but it turned out very useful, and I never knew you could read the chat using it. You were definitly in the right, the whole team was premade and you got 4 man reported for defending yourself against one person.
