Tier questions

So, looking around the forums I'm gravely concerned for the future of my account. Seems to be the pretty well held belief that if you get a 14 day ban your account is lost for the next nine months as far as competitive play is concerned.

So the questions are as follows:

Punishment has been dealt, do reports that have not yet been through the tribunal get discarded and the player has a fresh account at that tier? Or do they need to worry about the weight of things done before hand enhancing the value of a false report? Again consistently across the forums the belief of the community is "just roll an new account" because the one you have is in danger for months.

If you get the auto 14 day ban do you sit at tier 3 as if you had been hit with steps one and two? Or do you revert to being on tier 1? Personally I think the latter would be far more fair and give the player time to be corrective and still leave room for a bad day without perma ban being on the horizon. If the former then the community seems to be correct, its now a Co-OP vs AI only account for the majority of the year.

You won't get punished for old reports before your last punishment. That's basically double jeopardy. You aren't given a clean slate, but old reports won't be used by the system to hand out another punishment; you are, however, on a knife's edge and may easily trigger the next punishment if you continue your old behavior.

It only take 3 months for your punishment tier to drop a step. If you are having a problem keeping whatever negativity to yourself, I suggest using the mute function more liberally, or even moving the chat box off the screen. You don't have to avoid Ranked play if you can refrain from abusing chat.

You can still play competitive. Not saying anything (or just tell the team at the start of the game that you are going to /mute all and focus on playing) definitely helps, as the simplest things (such as saying "why") can be counted as a report against you. Keep in mind that Pre-game / Post-game chats are also included.

As DTN already pointed out, 3 months to drop a tier. Until you've received the notification that your punishment tier has dropped, I'd suggest you be quiet.

Just don't talk, and thank you for wanting to reform.
