Permanently Ban

I consider that Riot should stop with "perma" bans, i know that is hard to support toxicity, unsportman conduct and those kind of subjects, but you must see that those people, they're still players, and they have the same interest (or more) as the other ones, of course that i don't like who flame or who feed purposly, but come on... certainly they used to pay with their money to sustain their satisfactions, satisfying Riot also lol. I defend that you could ban people máx. 6 mounths or even 1 year, time enough to prevent a nice Community, those people surely will learn a lesson hopefully, well.. this is my thought to you Riot. Hope you use it. I'm banned permanently to be honest guys, fortunately i apologize about my mistakes in game and i'm sorry to everyone in this community. Have a nice day and enjoy it!

Honestly, they only use permabans on people they think don't have any hope of reforming. I truly don't believe that people who continue past all the flaming and insulting and STILL don't reform, don't plan do and deserve to be permabanned, but that is just me.

While I agree with you in premise, the difference is that a permanent ban is essentially Riot's way of saying they have given up on trying to reform that player's behavior. The systems have tons of warnings and scaled punishments built in to help guide player behavior, and when a player either ignores these warnings or is unable to change it becomes a significant enough problem to remove that player from the community entirely.

Would you say that a student who listens to the teacher and does his/her schoolwork should be treated the same way as a student who is belligerent and refuses to listen? A good teacher would do whatever he/she could to help the second student become more productive in the classroom, but ultimately there comes a point where doing so just isn't worth it any more.

Realistically speaking, players receiving permanent bans are a drastic minority (less than 1%). Riot receives plenty of revenue from players that aren't toxic, and from a business perspective it's actually more financially beneficial to increase the overall quality of the community by removing those they feel won't reform.

Honestly I think they should perma ban accounts if the player is breaking the rules. They give enough warnings before they do so. That being said that person can always create a new account and follow the rules that time

I understand your position, and honestly I think both sides of this view have merit. On the one hand, being toxic really ruins the game for other players and a permaban is the harshest punishment that Riot can take. On the other hand, there are people who want to reform and get their accounts back. I'm inclined to agree with you that maybe after a year players could get back their accounts on a basis that if they are toxic again, they will be banned forever. But at that point, most people won't want to wait a year to get that account back.

Sorry man I really don't have a clear stance on this. I wish you the best of luck in the future though!

The obvious question here is 'were you permanently banned?'

It's been posted that less than 3% of the player base receives 14 days bans or worse - those people who get perma banned won't be missed.

I mean, what goes through your mind at the 14 day ban, then?
