Why is our community like this? (toxic behavior)

I just played a game where my support was a lil bit toxic towards my jngl bc he didn't gank. I defended him by saying that he couldn't have done anything. my support kept writing and basically standing afk under the tower. The enemies killed me UNDER the tower and she still did very little. Only thing I wrote was that she should go to a chat room when she loves to write (mainly ment jokingly). and then I wrote nothing until the end.

Where our midlaner starts to flame supp and also me. Then our jngler joins in and writes in all chat that they should report me for toxic behaviour and bc I "stole" some kills from him in TEAMfights. some of the enemie team joined kinda in on that (their adc more just for fun)

and I wanna know WHY is our commmunity this way? That when you try to be nice, that those who you try to be nice to, suddenly start to be toxic af towards you for no reason other then that the game is not going well? I encountered so many rude ppl in this game (luckily sometimes nice ones too) But can it really be, that our community consists to 90% of people who are just ignorant and rude? Why?

Is it so hard to just chill in a game and have some fun? and when it's lost, you just move on? I love this game and I want to love it's community. But I just can't..

In my opinion a combination of the anonymity, style of the game, popularity of the game, and ability to see every action made by teammates.

Anonymity leads to people saying things that they know are not socially acceptable. This isn't really new.

The way the game functions, the performance of a teammate can greatly affect how individual performance plays out. This can be extremely frustrating if someone feels like they did the best that they could do but still end up with poor performance because of events outside their control.

The popularity of the game leads people to have a lot of pride in their skill. They feel invested in the game and might make someone feel like failure or poor performance paints them as incompetent. So they'll be quick to shift blame of poor performance to others.

Being able to literally watch teammates do things allows players to be extremely critical of how they play. It gives them specific tactical decisions to be upset about. And it's easier to voice complaints and toss out insults when they have something specific to be angry about.

It sucks, but it's likely that League will never have great player to player civility on average. Just gotta mute, report, and move on.

I really don't like that generalized question. People ask it all the time.

Our community contains hundreds of millions of people. Out of any group of people, there is going to be a sample of assholes who are not representative of the group as a whole.

Riot created this toxic community and they will die with it.

The most hilarious thing are the people that are not toxic /all chat report x for being toxic every 5 minutes. Yikers

This is why I consider everyone in a game my enemy, even my team mates. I never try to be nice them. I don't care about their feelings. I don't care how their day was. The only fuckin thing I care about is whether they feed or not. If they hardcore feed and I decide to leave, I don't give a shit how they feel about that either. You gotta be a lone soldier dawg.
