Why are people in normals games so toxic?

*This isn't a post simply ranting about the current situation of league or some 5 year old angry cuz his feelings got hurt but rather a genuine question regarding the state of the game and inquiry as to why Riot has yet to implement an appropriate system that can somewhat adequately address this problem.

Before I begin with my experience that had led me directly to voice my concern, I would like to go over my personal background in this game. I have been playing League of Legends since season 2 , and am currently Platinum. Throughout the past years, I have always been a casual player, I mostly play ranked flex with friends and do not take those game too seriously and sometime duo with a close friend to grind some LP and reach a point that would gain both of us some season reward. With that being said, I am not someone who is simply salty, but rather concerned to see the game, which I had loved for years, to go into such turmoil.

The event that transpired which inspired me to write this grammatically incorrect and utterly gibberish post is a game that I had played today. I had been awake all night and was working a project. As I finally finished, I decided to play a game of League before getting some coffee and finish my all nighter. Knowing my capacity at the moment and my lack of focus due to being worn out, instead of queuing up for a ranked solo or flex game, I decided to enter the normal draft queue instead, expecting it to be at least more friendly and much more relaxed and casual. As the game begin, again, due to my fatigue, which also is the cause for the lack of structure of this post which i apologize, I performed horribly for the first part of the game, by 10 minutes in, I was 0/4 as ADC and had lost bot tower. Although I eventually regained my edge by channeling my inner uzi for the later two thirds of the game, eventually ending the game 10/5 with a penta kill, my jungler, decided to flame me for the entire duration of the game including ping spams question marks in chat and a few "****"s. I first tried to explain eh situation, however, instead of actually trying to listen, he proceeded to tell me to "talk to me after you hit plat" and eventually spent 5 minutes in the post game lobby flaming me for demoting from plat IV to plat V, which, was actually cased by a mistake as my friend and I queued up for solo duo instead of flex and was not exactly trying during those games.

Having played the game for years, naturally I understand that this is the way the community is, yet as I consider the issue on a deeper level, I began to wonder: what if I am not a veteran to the game? what if I am someone who just started league not long ago and this is how i am treated despite having a legitimate reason to be less than proficient in a game that I would be new to? For me, this is probably one of the biggest reason why riot cannot find new players, after all, who would want to be stuck in a 40 minute verbal abuse over and over again? Not even a masochist would like this kind of abuse. Truthfully, if I had not spent hundreds to thousands of dollar on this game over the past years, I would not want to be here for even a second. So if a veteran like myself am questioning why do I still play this game, why would new players want to stay in such a toxic environment?

Of course, I understand the frustration of loosing, and it is not exactly pleasant, yet this is a game, entering into the game one should know that there is a possibility of loosing. While in ranked games, I am not exactly against flaming for those are matches that could be important for each individual and I do believe that playing poorly in a ranked game is not exactly excusable. But when it comes to normal games, flaming becomes much more unreasonable, after all, there is nothing to gain or loose regardless of the result of the game, yet it creates a much less enjoyable environment for everyone on the team, and even the enemy team when all chat is involved. An example of such would be the game I had described above; normally, being so behind and yet through out farming and out fighting the enemy to go from 0/4 to 10/5 with a pentakill would be an exciting moment for almost everyone that plays the game, yet due to the constant backlash form my jungler for my pool early game performance, that ecstatic feeling that I would normally experience was utterly robbed and thus, instead of allowing me to enjoy the game, make me want to quit for good instead.

Finally, I would like to apologize for the lack of logic in my reasoning as i have in fact been awake for about 25 hours at this point and the only difference between my brain and scrambled eggs is the taste. Yet I would like to question, why do so many player act in such a toxic fashion in normals? Why has riot allowed these things to keep happening if, they indeed wish to bring new player into the game and are not deliberately trying to destroy the game?

P.S. srry for the long and grammatically wrong and difficult to follow post, I am really tired.
