Regarding Toxicity

Why is verbal toxicity a bannable offense when players can decide to mute them if it truly bothers them? Things like griefing, i.e., feeding, and stealing buffs should be bannable on the basis of them being unavoidable and annoying for the entire team.

For the same reason shooting someone wearing a bulletproof vest is still a crime: just because a defense against an action exists does not mean the action is suddenly appropriate or acceptable.

Additionally, in order to tell that you should have to mute someone, you must be exposed to their toxicity first. It's ridiculous to assume that just because League is an online community that we HAVE to simply accept toxicity as an acceptable behavior.

Why are u comparing those 2? First of all, how can you "steal" buff if its neutral objective? It doesnt belong to anyone. Same way jungler is allowed to come on lane and farm, laner is allowed to go to jungle and farm. Feeding ? Why should feeding be bannable? Feeding just mean opponent is playing better and beating you. Its normal part of game. Whats griefing?

because when you come to the point where you feel the need to mute someone, you've already experienced toxicity?

The mute button is to try and salvage a game already ruined by toxicity.

The report button is so that no other player has to go through that.

Also, both things are bannable

I would understand if toxicity would AT MOST warrant a permanent mute, but in some instances bans are given. Where's the justification for banning them? Would permanently muting them not make it impossible for them to bm other players?
