Riot refused a refund after banning my account

bawlsdep·2/22/2019, 11:51:11 PM·12 votes·10,239 views

Just seeing if anyone else has experienced this issue. They perma banned my account under questionable circumstances. Yes in the past I have been suspended for negativity. I had just purchased 25 dollars in Riot points a few weeks ago and hadn't had the chance to use them. I was banned for asking my team to group and I became frustrated and told the team our top laner was trash. I was banned immediately after. Riot is refusing to refund the RP costs. Did anyone else have any success in getting their money refunded or does Riot just steal money for services un rendered?

Sorry to rant, but I would highly caution anyone buying RP from this company.

Did you receive the RP "promised" after the purchase? If yes, then your services had been rendered. You bought a virtual currency, that was the service. If it was mote recent, like 2-3 days, then they wpuld be more likely to refund that; even though they wouldn't have to.

You go to restaurant, order the food and then shit on the floor. The restaurant staff kicks you out and you still complain that you couldn't eat the food so you want a refund?

rujitra2/22/2019, 11:59:52 PM11 votes

You do not have any right to a refund. Your purchase of RP is clearly stated to be final when you purchase it.

Your lack of ability to control yourself does not entitle you to a refund. You spent the money. You got yourself banned.

Riot didn't steal anything. You obviously didn't read the TOS before you decide to buy something and then get yourself banned. Plus you're warned many times of what would happen if you continue the negative behavior. You have no one to blame but yourself.

Why support riots actions with purchasing their currency? You guys need to stop spending money or riot will continue to make bad decisions!

You broke the rules, and got punished for it. You were warned that your next offence would be a permaban, and you ignored that warning.

Riot didn't do this because you bought RP, Riot just banned you cause you broke the rules, doesn't matter if you spend money or not, it doesn't give you immunity to punishments.

but I would highly caution anyone buying RP from this company.

There is no need to be cautious about buying RP, if you don't break the rules.

From Riot's ToS:

You have no ownership or other property interest in any of the Virtual Goods you unlock, regardless of whether you acquired access to those Virtual Goods using Riot Points, Blue Essence or Hextech Crafting. Virtual Goods have no monetary value. You can’t redeem them for cash. You can’t obtain any refunds for purchasing Riot Points or Virtual Goods, except as expressly permitted by us.

Time to learn how to read ToS

If your food expires etc do you go to the store you bought it from and demand a refund because you didn't have the chance to eat the food? Of course not The same is with Riot

That's how business works

Riot suspended your account for 14 days and told you that any more negativity - even a little bit - would result in a permaban. And then you called your top laner "trash." And now you are permabanned. Riot has no reason to spend time issuing refunds for permabanned accounts.

I just got the papercraft anivia skin last night. If i get permabanned, I will accept my decisions and the consequences of risking my own money on a game that I could possibly be banned from. Meh. It was my choice.

Just charge back the money from your bank account and you can probably get more money back that you spent through out a year span Just saying...

Well now you'll learn not to be toxic pice of garbage.

(Talking from my personal experience)

After getting my last 14 day suspension (I think 6 mounths ago) I learned not to be toxic trash and ruin the community even more. First time/second/third is alwase hard. Btw if you think I'm harsh with my words, those words are exact same that anyone should use for people (like my old self) that are runing the community. 14th permaban taught me to better as a person not just as a player, also I have learned that 99.99% of the time if you're banned for flaming the ban is right and not "program error" and definitely not "questionable circumstances" lmao I know how it is buddy, but your denial will vanish after a few years (or mounths, depending how good of a person you are).

Also I'm proud to announce that I'm finnally honor level 2 and not stopping!

I hope you can reform too!

4.3. Do I “own” the Virtual Goods I unlock? (No. What you “unlock” is not the virtual good itself, but rather, a qualified right to access it in the Game.) You have no ownership or other property interest in any of the Virtual Goods you unlock, regardless of whether you acquired access to those Virtual Goods using Riot Points, Blue Essence or Hextech Crafting. Virtual Goods have no monetary value. You can’t redeem them for cash. You can’t obtain any refunds for purchasing Riot Points or Virtual Goods, except as expressly permitted by us. You can find our current content refund policy here.

We have the right to delete, alter, move, remove, or transfer any and all Game Content—including Virtual Goods—in whole or in part, at any time and for any reason or no reason, with or without notice to you, and with no liability of any kind to you. We don’t provide or guarantee, and expressly disclaim, any value, cash or otherwise, attributed to any data residing on servers we operate or control, including any Game Content attributed to your account. The sale or transfer of your right to access certain Virtual Goods, Blue Essence, Riot Points or Hextech Items may only be conducted via services approved of or provided by us, if any.

4.4. Once again: I don’t own these Virtual Goods? (“No!” shouted all the lawyers.) NOTWITHSTANDING ANYTHING TO THE CONTRARY HEREIN, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT YOU SHALL HAVE NO OWNERSHIP OR OTHER PROPERTY INTEREST IN YOUR ACCOUNT, AND THAT ALL RIGHTS IN AND TO YOUR ACCOUNT ARE AND SHALL FOREVER BE OWNED BY AND INURE TO THE BENEFIT OF RIOT GAMES. YOU FURTHER ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT YOU HAVE NO CLAIM, RIGHT, TITLE, OWNERSHIP, OR OTHER PROPRIETARY INTEREST IN THE GAME CONTENT THAT YOU UNLOCK OR ACCUMULATE, REGARDLESS OF ANY CONSIDERATION OFFERED OR PAID IN EXCHANGE FOR RIOT POINTS OR VIRTUAL GOODS. FURTHERMORE, RIOT GAMES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE IN ANY MANNER FOR THE DESTRUCTION, DELETION, MODIFICATION, IMPAIRMENT, HACKING, OR ANY OTHER DAMAGE OR LOSS OF ANY KIND CAUSED TO THE GAME CONTENT, VIRTUAL GOODS OR RIOT POINTS, INCLUDING THE DELETION OF GAME CONTENT, VIRTUAL GOODS OR RIOT POINTS UPON THE TERMINATION OR EXPIRATION OF YOUR ACCOUNT.

My question to you internet friends is why are you investing 25 dollars in a free to play video games where the company punishes you not for game play, but words. Go-to your bank account and get the money transferred back as a fraudulent charge. And don't give them any more money obviously

Riot wont refund ur money.

Just called your cc company (hopefully you used a card or this wont word),

tell them the charge was unauthorized. Say ur kid or something used your card wihtout permission and ur CC company will refund you.

This will make Riot ban your account; but, if you're already banned, that doesn't matter.

Riot are greedy company big company now take ur money back f em
