Why do intentional AFK'ers gain IP if their teammates win the 4v5?

Title is self explanatory.

Just had a Wukong sit in the base and sell his items for probably 15-20 minutes out of the game, while we were ahead, to try and get us to lose. We won anyways, and once he realized we were winning he just walked out of our base and collected the IP. I've submitted personal reports on these players before, and Riot simply gives an automated response, and doesn't act, thus allowing this to happen.

I'd say a big reason is because telling the difference between an intentional afker/someone who had crashed or had an emergency that they couldnt have planned for.

they cant just hand review every case, and have to come up with systems/ai that can judge cases based on set parameters.

Maybe they can add in a new system that if someone is tagged by leave buster, then they are denied LP gain for that game?

If they give an automated response, just keep replying until they send a real response. That's the only way to reach them.

riot only cares about behavior

not cheating and feeding, you can see this through their actions

I had a game like this. When the Lucian realized we might win, he went from being afk at base to running out and deliberately feeding. We made sure to report both behaviors.

Because Rito is kinda lazy with their system. i get it that they want to give people the benefit of the doubt, but they are really slow to act in the case stated above. Hell, they are really slow when someone is spamming Hate speech in game for christs sake.

it's even worse if you win when someone's intentionally feeding. They get the benefit as well while trying to force y'all to lose.. it's rather bullshit

Because Riot is too incompetent to fix it.

Reporting them after the game should be sufficient. It seems pretty apparent from the match history that he intentionally went afk. As for punishment beyond the low priority queue, that I don't know.

Thanks for the comments, and sorry for not replying, I've been moving across the state.

If a review is triggered and catches him he will skip to a ban most likely. Dc is one thing intentionally leaving to troll is a big no no.

The same reason why people who feed get LP if their team wins.

Lugg5/26/2017, 10:26:53 PM1 votes

That's a great point. The game knows if you have been afk for an extended period of time. No reason those people should get IP or LP.

Few reasons:

  1. It was always that way. So anything that requires work for something that isn't fixing gamebreaking bug = pointless
  2. It costs money that could be "better spent" on buffying Lee/Lucian and other Riots posterboys. Or money could go for LC$.
  3. They don't even have properly functioning reports (seriously, reports only work when one player ammased SHITTON of them. And only Ranked games count)
  4. Riot is corporation. And like in each corporation there's noone to take the blame for possible shit that could happen. Thus noone dares doing anything fancy in risks of losing job.
  5. In the end Riot is held by their shaved balls by 10cent. If there's no order from 10cent, then riot won't do anything. Master-slave relation.
  6. Worth mentioning I'm only guessing but Riots "game upgrading" division is the most crew/money-lacking one. While most of their cash is located in skin/LCS-like events department. From the looks of it, balancing team also is money starving since 2011 considering all of their retarded balancing decisions.

In conclusion: It'd be faster to:

  1. Learn all programming languages
  2. Write your own LoL
  3. Add 150 balanced champions
  4. Rewrite your game with new better client and what-not
  5. Re-Rewrite your game just for lols and giggles

Than for Riot to do anything that could actually be what users want without tossing surprise bonus like with DQ or 10bans they did.

In conclusion #2: If you want your game to be fun, do it with bunch of well trusted friends, stay independent as a group (a.k.a don't grab easy money with liabilities) and NEVER EVER go corporate.
