Is it possible to be wrongfully / mistakenly banned?

So ill recap the situation.

I'v played mainly only support for as long as I can remember. Odd time ill play something else but mainly its always support. I'd play casually and although i would definitely be trying I wasn't doing anything at all to improve myself.

Recently, I'v been trying to really improve my play to climb ranked, switching to jungle mainly. Taking advice from better players, and really just not only learning from my mistakes but applying improvements, and trying to do this consistently. I'm trying to improve in all areas, such as cs, when to gank / when to farm, macro play, map awareness etc etc...

In one of my last few recent games, one of the enemy players said to me "can you stop boosting shitty noobs and ruining games for low elo players"

I asked "why do you think im boosting?" to which he replied "shitty support main with a low winrate randomly switches to jungle and wins and carries almost every game."

He then said he and his friends (who were in the match) were going to report me for boosting.

I guess, in a way, I took it as a compliment, as my improved play does seem pretty evident.

I also can completely understand where hes coming from. I guess it does look rather odd someone who only plays support and doesnt do that well a lot of the time suddenly starts to play jungle and is carrying every game.

This is not me bragging but purely objectively stating things, but I'm not just barely winning these games, I'm usually completely dominating these games as a jungler, so I can understand how this looks like its not even the same player on the account.

But, I have had this account since 2009, I'v never payed for boosting or anything like that before, I'v never had any offenses with riot and my account is in perfect standing.

Also I'm certainly not good enough to be a booster myself, nor would I be a booster even if I was good enough.

This game is my passion, I'v never done anything wrong on it and would be destroyed if my account got banned, I'v put so much time and money and love into this game.

TLDR - I switched roles from being a lower win rate support to jungle and I am winning most of my games right now as jungle, people think im boosting someone else's account and reported me for it. Can I be mistakenly banned for this?

It is absolutely possible to be mistakenly banned. It's not likely... but it's possible. No system is perfect.

If you feel it's happened, just submit a ticket and it'll get investigated. They DO overturn bans when they are able to confirm it was a ban in error.

It's entirely possible for the system that detects this to get a false positive, though it's unlikely that you'll get banned for this.

No one really knows what the chances of getting banned for it are, though, because Riot keeps the standards by which it judges such things secret.

Yeah it's possible but unlikely. Just don't change your summs every game and log in from the same comp and you should be fine.

Honestly, riot uses a much more accurate heuristic than what the players accusing you did. They have access to so much more data. They do not want to ban players for improving their skills.

You understand an IP address change is a requirement for identifying boosters right?

Yes it is possible.

is it possible? sure

do you have anything to worry about? unless you actually did break the rules, then no.

it doesn't matter how many people report you for imagined wrong doings

Hey man I feel you I just googled if there is anyone else who got mistakenly banned because I just got permabanned. I posted on this link: https://boards.eune.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/player-behaviour-en/uk8lVIPJ-mistakenly-automatically-banned this is the proof that it is possible.
