Giving up, is it a punishable crime?

When reporting player, as an example for negative attitude is mentioned "Griefing" and "Giving Up". However the game has option to surrender, which basically means giving up. Shouldn't players get banned for surrendering a match?

People can start the surrender vote and not get punished.

What gets people punished is when they claim the game is over and then they stop trying.

Surrendering is offering a vote for everyone to just stop playing. Giving up is actively doing nothing while the game is STILL playing.

There's a difference between a vast majority coming to an agreement to stop a game and someone deciding to stop playing while the game is still on going. One will result in you being punished the other will not.

Not quite. It is more for the ones who go.

"GG" after the first death and then spams the surrender vote. The ones who go "open (insert lane)" and then refuse to go back to that lane.

i know the mindset to not give up, but honestly sometimes you have to understand you're outmatched. simple as that.
