I've been playing for six years. Never got a penalty. Got a 10-game chat ban and Honor is ruined.

TO BE CLEAR: I understand the rules and that this does not guarantee a response from a Rioter, that it will change the rules, or that it is my place to tell Riot how to handle their game. My intent is to only give feedback for consideration by Riot, should they see fit. I also have spoken to various Support team members and they suggested to post this here.

Edit: I have been Honor 5 every season since Honor was introduced, so my behavior is pretty consistent. This is a first-time and I am simply trying to discuss the Honor system, not argue to get the penalty reversed or anything of that nature.

I have NEVER received a penalty before. I'm low elo (Gold 4 but was climbing before the penalty). I will not receive rewards because of this penalty. I agree with the 10-game chat restriction, but knocking someone's honor down to 1, locking it for 15+ games, AND reverting it to level 1 for a SINGLE penalty is, in my opinion, absurd. I can agree with the chat ban, as I had a particularly frustrating day and got unreasonably flamed. I talked back and got reported/ penalized. I deserve the chat ban, I understand that counter-flame is still flame. But the rest is completely unreasonable for a first-time offence.

I'm sure my feedback doesn't really matter. I'm just one player and it really feels like Riot doesn't care about our opinions. It's clear that this is how the system is, so I'll just leave some feedback.

A punishment this harsh is completely unreasonable and unfair for one penalty in 6+ years of playing this game. The Honor system needs a serious rework. I'm all for punishing toxic players, but the punishment should fit the offence. Everyone has a bad game, and as I said, one singular game where I lose my cool shouldn't destroy an entire season of hard work and good behavior. I was on the cusp of Honor 5 before this penalty, and it would take a whole season just to get back to where I was. Right now, there is no way for punished players to recover at all in one season. Honor takes far too long to unlock and a punishment like this completely destroys an entire year of work. For one bad game.

I'd totally agree with the 10-game chat ban, and maybe losing one level of Honor for a single offence. Maybe even two. But knocking down someone who was almost to Honor 5 back to Honor 1, locking it so I can't even receive Honor even after I complete the chat banned games, AND knocking a player down to Honor 1 even after the lock is removed is unbelievable. I could understand something this severe for repeat offenders, maybe if I had two previous penalties this would be reasonable. Three strikes, you're out. Punish the consistently toxic people. But it doesn't do any good to knock down a person this hard for a single penalty in six years of playing League.

Thanks. I hope Riot will consider this feedback seriously. I doubt you will, but it would make the game a much better place. Please, if anyone has thoughts share. Maybe our voices will be heard.

Sincerely, an Evelynn Main Evelynn

You did not display honorable behavior, thus you do not deserve honor.

Honor levels 2-5 are for players that are honorable and consistently display honorable behavior. You did not do this.

You think that is bad, my account got perma'd for calling someone a r%%%%% as it was flagged as hate speech lol. Teammate rage quit after running it down once more after that. Is that guy banned with me? Likely not, Riot doesn't care about griefers as long as they aren't huge streamers.

As someone who had this happen to them earlier this year, all I can say is it does indeed suck. I personally chose to disable chat after I got chat restricted for a while and now I'm back up to Honor Level 3.

I agree it does seem harsh getting knocked down to Honor Level 1 and not having a chance for redemption past a certain point. Perhaps a one level drop instead of dropping you all the way down depending on the infraction. As it stands, Riot's honor system is kind of flawed. The Honor Orbs you get don't feel rewarding at all. They definitely should look to implement a better system so it gives players something to feel good about instead of a cloud hanging over player's heads.

Honour is not for those who merely follow the rules, it is for those who go out of their way to be a positive influence in their games. If you have shown yourself to be a negative influence in enough games to warrant a punishment then you have obviously demonstrated that you are not worthy of your honour ranking.

I am not trying to be rude and I apologize if it comes across that way, however, I am trying to explain in very clear terms the purpose of the honor system.

Good luck in your future games and I hope you have a wonderful day! 😌
