3 offenses in 9 years -> Permaban

Greetings fellow Summoners!

As the description explains, I am writing this post because Riot permabanned my account after a total of 3 offenses in 9 active years of playing League (7.000 games+), putting me in the 0.006% of the community whose accounts are permabanned. In this decade filled chili-drenched toxicity that at least anyone who has played soloQ knows what I'm talking about, I had 3 games where my teammates were whining and/or intentional feeding and/or misaccusing me enough so as for me to break my years of not talking back in a toxic manner. I'm not saying that I am flawless or that I didn't deserve some sort of punishment, I'm only saying that a permaban is too big of a punishment for this situation. Apart from the day of the incident, I didn't send any e-mails to the Support about it until after 1 year, which I felt was a sort of just punishment for my behavior. The chat Support now refuses to address my arguments about it and they even force-closed my ticket after a series of standard bot-like replies, which is why I am writing this post here, open to the public.

I am interested of what you think of it, and if you also believe that the permaban in this and/or similar cases was too much, then maybe (no obligation here) Riot should have an extra look at it, too.

Thank you for reading this! Lumin XIII (EUNE)

----- From this part and on you will find the non-tldr section ( extensive info, evidence, etc) ----- The first offense happened somewhere within the first 5 years of having the account, the second happened in 2017 and the third happened 3 months after the last one. All three of them were much provoked. After I received the permaban, I sent a message to the support, where I was biased that I didn't deserve any punishment at all because the other teammates were being a lot more toxic than I was (duo with actual swear words, caps and spam, misaccusing me and teaming up to tell everyone to report me ( while I used the words " trash " , " you guys are terrible " , " sleep more ( = don't react as if you're asleep)" )). I could later on see clearly that the best thing to do even in these extreme situations is to just mute them and keep along, like I did in other games, because not just the other person will get banned because they said worse things. Tldr edit about the offenses (I would like to again note that they were all provoked, not just by bad plays but also continuous active harassment) : the first offense from my side was something like " r%%%%% " ( ; was too long ago, is not even included anywhere in petitions, etc on my account), the second offense was the word " kys " (requote from comments : " By the way, even though this doesn't saintify me, I didn't really mean the act of "kys" ; it was a meme at the time and though I for sure was being salty and meaning to insult the person (not because I like insulting people, but because they actively insulted me first), I didn't mean the act.") , third offense is as written above, three active months later. You may also refer to the pictures for more detailed info. But even in the case where we won't consider at all the fact that this account's percentage of toxicity compared to games is extremely low, I commited 2 provoked offenses, and was considered that my account was still "hot" in terms of toxicity, while those 2 offenses were already three months apart. Chat support e-mail screenshots, read from left to right (I put them all in a .word file, couldn't post it as a file(can also provide with actual gmail printscreens if necessary for validation)) :

the second offense was the word " kys "

So while you score low on frequency of toxic behavior, that game you were extremely high on the severity scale. You put yourself on the edge of a cliff, and then you weren't cautious enough backing away from that cliff, resulting in a permaban.

It is a shame that you were permabanned because I don’t think you fall under the 99% of players who can’t seem to get out of their own way. The fact that you haven’t turned into a blithering, unrefined mess after the fact is a rarity on the boards. Many times the reason for a permaban is obvious to the world but not the player in question. You’ve handled this much better than the majority of cases.

That being said however...”kys” is one of those Zero tolerance phrases that you just cannot utter, ever.

That tends to happen if someone's spamming tickets. They did point out specific parts of your prior punishments; that frankly doesn't sound like a bot. They do likely deal with players writing in about their punishments, so I can see how they'd have saved phrases for talking with punished players.

I am interested of what you think of it, and if you also believe that the permaban in this and/or similar cases was too much, then maybe (no obligation here) Riot should have an extra look at it, too.

Seems like your main complaint is:

I'm only saying that a permaban is too big of a punishment for this situation.

And I really feel like they addressed that.

  • They told you your account had not adequately shown improvement (or that it was "hot")

  • They told you that others' behavior does not condone your actions, and that muting others should help when others are rude -this part seems lost on you, as multiple times in this post you're referencing others' behavior.

I get that "kys" is a pretty severe offense, and might not be as bad as what you said in those 3 games, but it still warranted a punishment. You were told following a 2-week ban that your next punishment would be a permanent ban.

Edit: I also looked at your match history. You did have quite a few games between November and February, but I don't think you were playing regularly, as there were a few gaps in your match history.

Don't talk about this kind of stuff on the boards. People downvote anything with "perma ban" in the title, regardless of if they read the post or not.
