Should Rito put a permanent censor in game chat to eliminate offensive content?

The title really says it all. I've gotten my chat restrictions and never changed. I don't care about hurting your feelings. The only thing I care about is not getting to my 4th strike haha! I can proudly say I've never spent money on this game unlike most of those out there, so the only thing i have to lose is my time. However, when Rito permabans someone for offensive chat, cuz i don't know of anything else people get banned for anymore.

_ELIMINATE OFFENSIVE CHAT FOR EVERYONE!!!!!!!!! _

If it's such a big deal to Rito that people be nice to each other, which come on who is lol? Just put in auto censorship like literally everything else does that cares. And your toxicity goes down, bans go down, happiness goes up, literally I see no downsides. If Rito really cared about it's clientele (which everyone knows they don't) they'd implement something like this. But they're still chasing the all mighty dollar and trying to ban people who are invested financially into this game and and make them restart and buy more stupid sh!t from them.

But who knows maybe I'm wrong and I'm just toxic and I shouldn't be playing this game.

What are your opinions on this? Would it work? Would it ruin the game for you? Maybe this thread can change LoL forever for the better!!! :D

Riot has never banned for swearing (with the exception of homophobic/racist slurs). Being an asshole to other people is what gets people banned. Or simplified: "Go fuck yourself" is just as bad as "Go **** yourself".

It's been proven throughout history that prohibition and censorship does not work and fails to do anything more than create prejudice and promote social unrest.

Enforcement of general codes of conduct however have been accepted by society and although these codes may not always be agreed upon it is agreed that they should be enforced.

So basically, certain words don't need to be censored or banned. But someones choice to use them to hurt people or attempt to hurt people is not acceptable and we all want those people policed.

As RIOT's WookieCookie suggests (and I'm paraphrasing): It's not fun if we say you can never use the F -word. It is also not fun if you use it against people in a very negative way or to shout an obscenity over and over. The rule of thumb for enforcing this is "don't be a jerk".

As someone who curses a lot but doesn't get suspensions, I'd like to think the system is working.

Flaming tends to get banned more than offensive content. Flaming is not offensive so much as massively annoying while I'm trying to deal with split push Udyr.
