Worst community ever.

I have played several online games ranging from CS 1.0 too Dawngate, MMOS, FPS's you name it i'v played it. But after i have started to play LoL more active it has come to my attention that the community is really out of this space.

For example.

  • Raging
  • Flaming
  • Trolling
  • AFK'ing
  • Talk more then they play
  • and all these "i am smurf mid"
  • Since the most interaction you do with people are ingame i kinda feel it's 95% **** and 5% decensy.

Is this me or does others feel the same way?

forced anonymous co-operation is not fun. i don't consider myself toxic but i frequently wish pain upon people in this game.

It's not just the game, people in general are all dicks.

The fact that this is a team game and you can hardly carry absolutely alone is a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge factor because you literally cant win unless you are lucky enough to play with people who know what the hell they are doing. Combine that with the fact that at least 60% if not more of all people are just not intelligent or mechanically capable of playing this game (sorry but it is that way) and you've got a problem. That problem is that you lost not because the enemy is better than you, but because your team is much worse than you and that is frustrating as hell, especially for people who get annoyed when they lose (especially when they lose a lot in a row) and who can't have fun unless they win because they feel that this is a competition where the only goal is to win. I am that kind of person and many other are as well. That in my honest opinion is the root of the problem. And yeah, don't forget that some people just have mental problems or are underaged spoiled kids, they are allowed to play too unfortunately.

Human nature is just a fascinating phenomenon. On one hand you believe 95% of the community is rotten, yet you come to Boards and try to find confirmation from the same people?

You should understand few things. 1.) LoL has probably the largest player base out there => more players = more toxic people. The ratio is very similar to any other (competitive) game out there 2.) in CS/LoL/MMOs/... you're not THAT reliant on your teammates. For instance in CS it's perfectly possible to carry the game 1v5 if you're really good. Not possible in LoL, so when you see your teammates are trolling you, there's nothing you can do about it and start to feel hopeless 3.) majority of the players are minors under 18 4.) you're somewhat exaggerating. Sure, there are many bad people out there, but there are MANY nice as well. They are just not as vocal as the toxic ones.

Nevermind, I just read your other posts. What a lovely troll we have here.

The way this community is so easily offended and rabidly calls for reports/bans at anything they believe is "toxicity" is probably the worst part about it.

LIterally worst fucking game in existence. Permabans for swatting flies, it's pathetic. Shitty balancing. Money-grubbing shit-headed CEOs. I wish I never heard of it.

YordlesBaby1/20/2017, 3:28:10 AM2 votes

XXChuckXX, thouhgt it is true that there's always a reason for someone to be toxic, often the reasons are exaggerated and often ouright wrong. Sure I died to the rengar while I was 7/1/9 but that is no reason to flame me out. Coming from a person who was extremely toxic, I have realized that the reasons that i was toxic were often insignificant and overblown. Sure, often anger is justified, but unless the person is deliberately trying to tilt you toxicity is never a good idea.

I hope you find less toxic people in your games [slayer-jinx-wink] -YordlesBaby

power creep has really made the small mistakes huge so everyone flames over everything

MUSHROOM MIDGET1/22/2017, 8:48:44 AM2 votes

its not the players its the game. a lot of the same people who are toxic in LoL also play CS or other games and are just fine. its the way this game works that causes toxicity.

-snowballing, matchmaking, leaverbuster, autofill, and more. its the most toxic game ever created before you add players.

HavokDash5/27/2018, 10:16:05 AM2 votes

The one thing I am seeing more and more is this disgusting sense of "snobbery", the better-than-thou "I'm too good for this trash team" attitude. Where rather than actually HELP teammates, they would rather degrade and demean teammates and talk about "Why do I have to get these garbage teams. I mean look how good I am and how trash my team is"

All I see is this entitled, Nose-in-the-air elitism from this community. No one tries to stop it. If anything they encourage it. If A player does good, they can go on and on about how "this trash team would fail without me" or "Why do I have to get stuck with dumpster fire teammates like this" and If you try and call them out on it, saying there is no need for the snooty attitude, you get told "stfu he/she is carrying ur ass" so The player can be as demeaning and degrading to their team as they want....as long as they make sure they have more KILLS (Kills...in a game focused around OBJECTIVES) than your teammates.

That is one thing that disgusts me about this whole community. Its one big circlejerk and if you dont build like everyone else, think like everyone else, or blindly follow the meta and stop thinking for yourself...You are branded a "Troll" you are "mad cuz bad" or "salty cuz u sukk at the game" when you can have more towers. I had a game where I had the entire bot lane cleared up to enemy inhibitors. But apparently iam "Trash at the game" Because I didnt have as many kills as mid...who hadnt even touched the opposing tower, just sat farming kills.

This community really does disgust me, but I know people will pull up things like "ur kda 10 months ago during a 5v3 where you went 0/3 so u dont get to talk" As if random stats pulled from match history instantly invalidates ANYTHING I have to say. All so they can shut people up and go back to telling themselves how utterly perfect they are and any criticisms are just "people who are salty cuz they suk at the game" Good game, but the community isnt worth even basic respect. Not untill they pull thier head out of thier ass and deflate all those swollen egos. Really sick of the narcissism

Fairyfleur1/20/2017, 6:38:48 PM1 votes

Having to work together with a team or else you'll lose + a large playerbase is a recipe for toxicity. However, the entire community isn't bad.

Kinshasa7/12/2017, 10:02:33 AM1 votes

It's the worst community ever. Especially at summer time. Kids, drunks and stoned people destroy this game. Really if you dont play with a friend you just wanna break everything in your sight.

PhilCoblins5/27/2018, 9:34:15 AM1 votes

Fuck league of legends.

Vlada Cut5/27/2018, 11:26:33 AM1 votes

The toxicity doesn't stop me from playing, whether or not it's full of losers and immature people. At least in EU the new policy will come where eveveryone who is 16 or 17 will need their ID to continue to play while everyone younger than 13/14 will have their accounts locked. This is comoletely justified as it was annoying to see 10 year olds ruining matches because they thought they could be cocky for being 0/20/0.

Shynana1/19/2017, 7:03:32 PM1 votes

its been like that since i played nothing much changed about a toxic community but hey atleast riot is trying to work on it, but you going to find a lot of bad things in a game, depends qhat you like about it, me personally i like atleast toxcity in the game , its quite halirous but i get the impacta it has in the game

Jonesybones5/27/2019, 8:58:09 AM1 votes

Well you are on EUNE I heard its the most toxic server. How ever reporting ppl is how you can help create a better community

Karunamon1/19/2017, 7:41:06 PM1 votes

Same. I'd say my ratio of games where jerkitude is displayed to games where jerkitude is not displayed is about 9:1.

It's the Greater Internet Fuckwad Theory in action. Random people online have a captive audience for up to an hour, and it attracts jackassery of the highest order.

mvmlego1/19/2017, 7:48:13 PM1 votes

I don't do a large variety of online games, but my friends who do typically feel very similar to the way you do. It's a shame, really, because I think the game has such great potential. It just doesn't deliver on that potential consistently enough, largely due to the types of people you mentioned, and others. Even though you don't mention extremely careless feeders (0/13/2 types) in your original post, you do seem to make some references to them in your responses to comments. I recently made a post about this, and a way I think Riot could fix this. I'd be interested in knowing what you think over on that page. It seems like the kind of thing you'd be interested in. http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/player-behavior-moderation/6qUT19A0-intentional-vs-careless-feeding

Spaceman5pff1/19/2017, 8:04:38 PM1 votes

The number of people throwing around "kys" lately is a bit crazy, imho.

Certainly a big increase over the last 6 months or so.

SnakDatSmilesBak1/19/2017, 8:45:48 PM1 votes

I feel like the bad moments are especially bad in LOL, mostly I wish there was something I could do to lower toxicity across the board since in game it's usually not hard to disarm people with nice words and smiley faces.

Zaryelle1/19/2017, 9:31:00 PM1 votes

Yeah I played lots of other online games since I was 9-10 and never experienced the anger, spamming, stupid phrases/acronyms/terms used over and over for every situation like kys/salty. This is the only game I've played where someone can throw a temper tantrum all game and then convince the team to report someone besides them. Like building one 'wrong' item can have some kid flaming at you for the rest of the game even give him an excuse to intentionally feed. I don't know why I even play this game honestly. Recently a guy was intentionally feeding over and over and asking team 'you salty yet?'. After the 10th feed I said 'maybe you don't know the definition because you are the one acting salty over whatever happened before this game' and this causes him to flame everyone for the rest of the game while he still continues to feed and '?' ping over everyone on our team.

Quattro Bajeena1/20/2017, 1:12:58 AM1 votes

Just mute; people are toxic so I'm not even sure why you would want to interact with them when we have all these pings. If you don't talk to them they can't really do much to you. Feeding or afking is unavoidable though unfortunately, although there's people who want to be assholes but don't have the conviction to lose the game faster by feeding or afking, so they stick to chat. Try premades, playing this game with friends makes it 10x more fun assuming the're not assholes too. summoner 21

Hauling Ashe1/20/2017, 4:26:13 AM1 votes

I actually feel like the more I play/better I get, the less toxicity I see. I mean, I still see occasional trolls and flamers, but every month I see fewer and fewer of them.

I do wonder if Riot actually does manipulate things a bit so the less reported players get paired with other less reported players at a more frequent rate. (Yes, I know they don't do "prisoner's island" but I do wonder if that's only a half-truth.) A lot of the people I see who complain about toxic people in League are kind of toxic themselves...

Telephone Booth1/20/2017, 4:49:50 AM1 votes

Meh I probably get minor toxicity from like 1 person per game on average. It's not that bad in my experience. At least not 95% shit. Just from my experience I would hazard to guess maybe 10% of people are toxic in game. At least, intentionally toxic. Then there's the dummies who argue with toxic people... they aren't really toxic, but they definitely make things worse and magnify the toxicity. If people would just ignore insults and criticism, the toxicity would be such a non-issue. But everyone's got their egos inflated because we live in the era of entitlement and they want to "defend" themselves because God forbid they feel insulted and not retaliate. Just a childish, immature community for the most part in my experience.
