I have a serious issue i need help with!

HELLO!

So i'll just get right into my ramblings...

I think I'm a good player. Mechanically i find the game very easy. I actually have a thing for playing ADC's top lane just to abuse the lower level mechanics of silver players. However I myself am also a silver player... Why am I silver? Simple! I f***ing suck!

I am always left clueless or don't really know how to respond when a teammate calls me out for not rotating or not going for x objective or not doing this or that during a team fight. Mechanics seem to only be 10% of the game when shadowed by the clearly more important MACRO PLAY. I suck at macro, keeping track of summoners, keeping track of power spikes or which lanes need help or even which lanes i should be roaming to. After 15 mins or after i take first tower in my lane i honestly sometimes have no idea what im supposed to do. Is there any advice or videos or anything people could recommend for learning how to actually play the game rather than just your champion? League is very fun to me and the feeling of outplaying someone who should be stomping you is awesome, but outside of that I'm simply just dead weight and really want to improve

Quick Edit: Post 15 minutes i find myself just clicking through the jungle and not doing anything to farm or benefit myself. What are some key points you should identify after the laning phase ends?

You can fight many guides on youtube, from proguides, gameleap lol to foggedftw2, tfblade(tho he can be toxic and childish), neace or countless unranked-dia/chall series. You might also find some valuable threads in r/summonerschool. So good luck.

I just go where there is money. If I can not keep pushing top in fear of a gank, I go help mid or bot. If I feel that I am going to be useless in team fight, I split push where there is no one. Dragon is also a good time that the game offers you to give you indication; either choose if you want to pressure top to force one enemy or more away from the dragon area (bonus points if it is the jungler), or join your team to secure dragon. Jay Sea is a great non-toxic YouTuber who mains top lane, even though I do not play top, I find his videos very educative.

First thing you should do is to group with your other laners and take the outer turrets down. That opens up the map for rotations.

Then you start pressuring the side lanes, having it ~~push at the same time (or slightly earlier) as your other lanes. ~~ You now have the tempo and can chose to rotate or push, ~~that choice depends on who shows up on the map (I recommend hiding in a safe spot when deciding and not show on the map). ~~ If the champion defending your pushing lane is the one you've killed many times, then go ahead and kill them and further pressure your lane. If they all show up in other lanes, you got yourself a free lane. If you see a bunch of them show up in your lane, you can rotate to the other lane and get the other objectives.

To recap:

  1. Pressure the map alongside with your team
  2. Assess whether you should continuing pressure the same location or should you rotate for another objective
  3. Execute the plan, it's a good idea to tell your team what you are planning
  4. ???
  5. Profit

The reverse can be said, if you are being pressured, look a few minutes ahead and see what objectives they are trying to take. It's silver and many are bad at macro. If they aren't pushing at the same time, then there isn't much pressure on the map. They probably won't hide to assess the map and get picked off, without vision.

Fun tip, did you know as of writing this in patch 10.1, a side lane will perma push when you are 25 minutes into the game and the lane is pushing past the river (assumingbouter turret is gone) unless a champ comes and purposefully manipulates the lane so it pushes back? This means that you can set up the lane so it will push, and that laner collecting your wave will be to continuously defend the lane (unless they know how to manipulate the wave) without you being there, opening you to rotate to other objectives or rotate from other locations into that side lane to take free towers.

Things wont seem so simple and easy to you when you start watching some guides on riven and fiora gameplay and how to fast combo etc. Along with the Machine Gun Caitlyn mechanic, etc.

But thats a different note entirely.

Learn wave management, objective priorities, how to teamfight, how to ward, and just general "macro and micro management" in google.... there is videos galor.
