Anyone Ever Been Banned for Saying “Kid”?

I got a two week ban and opened a ticket to riot, in which they responded with something along the lines of, “we want to take everything negative out of the chat, such as belittling people by calling them ‘kids’.” Am I the first to get banned for saying “sit kid”? Or has someone else been banned for something this stupid? I call people children or kids in chat when I’m trying to avoid being ACTUALLY toxic, so I don’t understand Riot Games logic.

YOu act as if you said "kid" once and instantly got a 14-day ban. Thats utter nonsense. YOu need to have a long, long, **LONG **history of negative behaviour to get a 14-day ban from anything other then inting/hatespeech (which you COMPLETLY IGNORE), meaning you get the ban for the consistency of your negative behaviour. And even then i've never seen anyone whose chatlogs only contained a single "kid". So, post your entire punishment history and chatlogs, your interpretation of the events is already wrong.

How is that not being toxic?

Just don’t flame people. It’s easy.

It's possible to treat teammates poorly without using any insulting terms at all. It's not so much the words used, be it "kid" or "trash" or something much worse, but the intent behind what you're saying to the other person.

My first instinct is to be extremely belligerent and sarcastic to people, but I have to have self control and ultimately not put my fingers to the keyboard. I have nothing to gain by being a jerk to someone in-game. It's not going to increase my chances of a win.

Yeah thats toxic and mean. Its like trying to get under someones skin without triggering a chat detection. That means you were purposefully trying to avoid it yet still being toxic at the same time.

Because it's obviously being used as an insult?

As an intellectual, I don’t give a shit if someone calls me a kid. It’s the kids running around, all capping, “KYS YOU FUCKING %%%%%%” that should get banned. Calling people children, when they act like it, shouldn’t be bannable. I don’t see what’s so hard to grasp.

Unfortunantly, Riot considers the most trivial things to be "toxic". They do this to try and satisfy the sensitive part of the community. Hell, based on recent events regarding esports, it is evident that Riot are SJWs.

Sorry for the ban, you can try transferring to regions like EUW/EUNE where chat moderation is not as strict and more players can tolerate your trash talk

I don’t understand Riot Games logic.

Punishment system operates based on consistency x severity.

They way you use "kid" is in a condescending manner, which counts as minor toxicity.

Do this often enough and you'll get punished.

I'm glad we just glossed over the fact that the OP would be the only documented case of receiving a ban for ONLY saying "kid" and skipped right to the usual suspects arguing the same shit.

How about the OP provide evidence, via chat logs, of his proposition before we start flexing our epeens?

I mean why belittle people when you can say nothing. Not in the sense of "if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all!" no no no, i'm not saying that. I'm trying to say, hey man, you can just not be mean. It's actually pretty easy. I think a majority of the player base, in a bad game of league, would get pretty upset over you/anyone calling you 'kid'. Mainly cause it's just rude. Show more love broski, for your sake.

This is what happens when people cry about "its so toxic someone said something mean to me cry cry cry"

It gets worse and worse and worse until eventually, we end up here

There may have been bans here where the person happened to have said the word "kid", yes.

Ive said "hush child" before and didnt get punished. But I very rarely respond to kids throwing hissy fits in chat, so thats probably why I didnt get punished. Remember, even minor toxicity can get you punished (things like just disrespecting someone, in other words saying things like sit kid, or hush child) if you do it consistently. Its consistency AND severity that is measured to determine punishment status.

P.S. the hush child worked brilliantly. The guy wouldnt shut up after that and turned his flame to me because it clearly offended him.
