The 5%

Dear Rito Games and fellow Summoners to the Rift,

Today I was chat restricted.

I don't mean to toot my own horn or anything, but that means that I am more toxic than 95% of the League of Legends community according to Rito's negative behavior detection system.

First, I would like to thank dynamic queue, for its ability to put me into games where there is a 4 man pre-made group on my team that gets angry when I can't communicate effectively with them and understand what they want to do without voice comms. I really wish Rito would run a statistic on how often a single player matched with a 4-man gets reported, because I would love to see the results.

Secondly, I would like to thank toxic teammates. The official stance is that if you receive chat restrictions, you are only in 5% of the community. I feel that is a ridiculously low number from the many thousands of games experience that I have. In time, all of those toxic teammates will get their just desserts as well, and I will feel the wind on my face and laugh as the wings of justice finally beat down upon the toxic masses.

Finally, I would like to thank the system itself, because in almost 70 games in the past 4 days, only 3 of them were used to determine my guilt, and justify my placement in the illustrious 5%. I would also like to point out that in all of those games, there was an intentional feeder on my team. The system doesn't care about the age old question "what came first, the flamer or the feeder?", it only cares about whether or not I used words that cannot be said on cable tv.

Yes, I deserved to be chat restricted. I admit I was having a rough time of it those 3 games out of 70, and taking it out in chat. I said things that could and should be frowned upon in the league of legends community. Never racial slurs or death wishes though, there are never reasons for that, honestly.

I do propose that Rito attempt to improve their system, though. Yes, chat logs are useful. Player reports are useful data points to figure out if someone is breaking the Summoner's Code. All of the current system dynamics are useful, but they aren't enough. Where is justice for the 4 players forced to watch helplessly as the Draven again runs down mid lane into the jaws of the enemy team? Where is justice for the single player left alone in a hostile environment trying to win a game that's supposed to be 5v5, but has turned into 1v9? Where is justice for the player that /mute all's and is still reported and convicted of verbal abuse after the end of the game? The system doesn't work if you are only punishing 5% of the playerbase for behaviors in which 90% engage in on a frequent basis. There needs to be a complete overhaul of the system.

Maybe next summer, instead of fancy new class updates, you could completely revolutionize your player behavior system. Resurrect the tribunal. Add methods to determine where the flame originated from, and punish accordingly. Take out the message that indicates someone you reported has been punished (as much as I enjoy it) since it acts as an incentive to report more, even innocent, summoners.

Please take this matter to heart, since it is perhaps the biggest issue in League of Legends to date.

Sincerely, Ohana

The fact that you made a thread this long proves you are toxic.

Any mature person would just accept it and move on.
