Why is it so hard to stop playing after going on a losing streak?

Like seriously, i'm on a 6+ losing streak right now and got demoted back to silver 2 (but to be fair i did have a legit troll in that one) and for some reason instead of just stopping when i hit 0 lp or when i got demoted i kept on playing and now i'm close to 0 lp again.

I really don't understand why it's so hard to just stop playing

it's just your mentality. you want to end your session on a positive note, and you think

my streak won't go on forever, I'll win this next one for sure. just one more game.

what I do after losing a ranked game is either stop playing, or play normals until I win again to avoid playing ranked on tilt. another thing you can do is just decide a set number of games you'll play. tell yourself you'll play 3 games that day, and regardless of the outcome, stop after 3. or play best of 3, or 5, or however many you want. just stick to whatever you decide, and never play "just one more game".

its like gambling, eventually you have to win right?

i was in promos from silver to gold started off the promos 2-0, 8 loss streak later i almost dropped to silver 2, then got a win streak (because the matchmaking tries to get you to 50%) and boom im gold now i can stop playing solo queue for the season #freeskin

you have no self control.

Win streaks put you above your true MMR, so if you haven't also gotten better, you're in for a beatdown. Always happens to me after a win streak.
