So I was playing in a ranked game as jungle a few days ago when I started getting flamed by my support and midlaner. I'll admit I did type a lot but did this game really warrant a 2 week ban? I'm just curious what the community thinks about this. I have a theory that the system takes into account how many messages are sent, and just assumes them all to be toxic, because people i know type much more toxic things, but with less overall messages in chat but of course they're not getting 2 week banned. Like what are you really doing Riot games? How is it that I deserve the ban but the two people who are teaming up on me in a game where i'm 3-1 as jungler.

I'm not one for flaming people, like I don't see the point of what typing "fucking noob top" or "holy shit this jungle isn't doing anything" but I do have a sometimes reply when i'm getting flamed for no good reason. Please don't hit me with the "just mute all" because thats what I do most games because everyone is so quick to flame any mistake anyone else makes without ever thinking for even a second "wow maybe i did something wrong" that this game just isn't fun 60% of the time.

It just doesn't make sense, I played my 8 placement games MANY of them ending in losses, with one or both of my solo laners having double digit deaths. But not once did I ever type a SINGLE message to instigate any flame, because it's just not worth anyone's time. But I have ONE GAME. Literally 1 game here on this stupid reform card. Where i'm 3-1 as jungle and get flamed for NO REASON. I type back and forth with these two over the course of the game and I'm getting two week banned? Is this a joke Riot Games? The system does not take into account number of toxic messages.

It takes into account the prevalence and incidence of your toxicity - basically, how much of your chat is toxic, how toxic it is, and the raw amount of toxicity (but primarily the first two).

One message of “damn you suck” in a log of 50+ lines of chat is not going to get you punished. 50+ lines of normal chat is not going to get you punished. If the only thing you say in games is “damn you suck” or similar, and only send 5 or so messages such as that per game and that’s your entire chat, that can get you punished. If almost all of your 50+ line log is toxic, then that will get you punished as well.

Your log has toxicity distributed throughout it - from the beginning to the end. You are being extremely sassy and sarcastic, and at times not just passive aggressive but actively aggressive.

What does your reform card say? It if was for general toxicity, that means you ignored your previous 10 game chat restriction and 25 game chat restriction. Any level of negativity would result in a punishment at that point.

“ok now i mute for real im getting autism from yall” Might warrant a two week ban on its own. Riot takes disparaging members of minority or otherwise defended classes pretty seriously. And if you’ve had previous chat restrictions this would be the next punishment tier.
