I don't see what free speech has to do with anything. Riot isn't a government.

I sympathize with the guy's struggles if they're accurate, but if you sign a contract stating that you won't do something, you're expected not to do that thing.

They signed contract that they wont say such things. That guy breached his contract. And free speech just means that he want be persecuted by government for what he says. It doesnt apply here.

There will always be freedom of speech... But just some quotes have consequences. If you say something about my mother I will hit you. I am not forbidding you of saying things about my mother but now you know that there will be a punishment.

So, let me get this straight, this guy was hired contractually, but then decided to publicly insult their employer.

What, exactly, were their expectations?

Because, that is legitimately how you get fired in my country. Not sure what country you're from, but I think that's universal.

Hmmm....

I feel that your link shows a little bit of misinterpretation / missing information

https://www.google.ca/amp/s/dotesports.com/league-of-legends/news/likkrit-receives-six-month-ban-19594/amp

This one has a bit more information, he was banned for competitive play, not from the game itself.

This probably goes into the e-sports column, as I would think that the community in that subboard follow e-sports, and its rules / regulations much closer than the community in PB.

In heavy Russian accent In communist Russia, freedom of speech get you shot.

Kind of funny how these boards are the only place you'll find people not supporting Likkrit. These boards are full of sycophants, bowing to totalitarian authority and acting like it's great.

This forum is a shameful place. Any opinion not directly sponsored by Riot is not even considered worthwhile.

BTW, the concept of free speech extends beyond the 1st amendment of the US Constitiution. This story isn't even in the US and you still have the idiotic talking point that "free speech only protects you from the government." That is 1 law in 1 country. It isn't that simple, simpletons. Actions have consequences too, and a company that punishes speech in draconian fashion will reap consequences for their actions.

I'm confused. What does free speech have to do with a PRIVATE, non-government entity?
