Personally I agree. I would rather have someone say a bunch of horrible crap to me but keep trying than have them be passive aggressive fake nice and then give up and soft int. Thoughts?

Thoughts are that neither should be acceptable, and neither flaming nor proveably intentionally feeding are acceptable.

However, the issue here is "soft int". The definition of "soft int" is that it is indistinguishable from bad play, making mistakes, or other non-punishable actions. Riot can't punish something that's indistinguishable from non-punishable actions.

I think the vast majority of people who play Ranked would agree. You can always mute people, but you can't do anything if they stop trying or decide to int. Its a question this Board always tries to avoid though.

i dont like that people are trying to rationalize being a total dick.

ALL of my losses, are because of at least 1 person being a toxic asshole.

being toxic makes others distracted or tilted (in my case, it distracts me, even if I mute them because mentally it was annoying) and they tend to just rush in bad fights and play Call of Duty style.

My most enjoyable games have been games where even when my team wipes completely and we could now lose the game from your lead, people just go "ouch, we can still win X person has no flash" and we play and win. Instead of "OMFG WHAT WAS THAT LMFAO WE LOST GG" and then not be strategic and make the best out of what happened.

It's a shame that people are so attached to the past and mistakes instead of realizing what happened happened, and what to do to make the best out of the situation. It's unhealthy to think "what if".

Also, I personally never saw someone "soft int". It's literally a stupid term made by people who probably harassed someone thus making them play bad and just call them "soft inters".

Typically, the toxic people don't say one line then stop. Whether they receive replies or not, whether they're muted or not, they keep banging away on the keyboard instead of playing the goddamn game. That's deliberately not playing the game and needs to be punished. I don't want these asshats in my games.

Of course. You can mute them if you have to. Does that mean Riot should just allow it and lose tons of players due to being flamed all the time? You gotta think of the big picture. not just your personal preference. Do people quit league due to toxicity? Yes. Does riot rely on players for profit? Yes. Does riot need profit in order to survive a capitalist economy? Yes.

So I can completely understand the rules. Do i like them personally? Meh... i do and i dont. On principle, i think theyre wrong. BUT I've seen players derail completely after being flamed. They werent even doing that bad. But after being flamed, oh boy they just cant be bothered to try after that. You wanna see bad? Okay ill show you bad. Some have that attitude. So I see how toxicity affects more than peoples feelings. It affects my good time when someone onmy team is getting flamed by another teammate. Its not about me, or you specifically. Its about garnering a fun experience for the lowest common denominator to maximize profit for the company that governs and created the game in the first place. Without riot, theres no league. Without a large playerbase, theres no Riot.

And btw, I didnt even watch the video lol, so im just speaking generally on it.

Yeah, I hate the classic "You didn't ganked me? Guess I'll have bad game :)", idc about threats as long as we are trying.

Also tryharding part is interesting, I never played in NA, is there more casuals in ranked or players who think tryharding in ranked is wrong?

When, if ever, are you able to make the choice between the two?
