Permaban -> Permamute?

So, my question is, wouldn't permamute be a more suiting punishment, rather than permaban? With permaban, only that 1 single account gets banned, just like the example of Tyler1 and several other famous streamers who got removed for toxic behavior, they usualy create a second account and continue to be (as a result of that ban) even more toxic. So my question is, wouldnt the system of Permanent Mute work better? Banned Players wouldnt create new accounts, as they had already spent money on that old one and leveling a new account takes time, but they wouldnt be able to flame on their main accounts.

They effectively had this before. People would accumulate thousands of games with chat restrictions, but they'd keep using their limited messages to be toxic. Full muting wouldn't be the best idea either, since then you'd have people saying things like "Hey, I'm going to swap with you" and they'd be unable to refuse.

Some people might intentionally feed.

No, for a very simple reason:

Its not Riots responsibility, to shield others from peoples toxic behaviour. Its every players responsibility to not be toxic in the first place.

If someone cannot do that, then there really is no reason whatsoever, to let them play.

Since you're putting Tyler1 as an example, I'll go with it.

It probably wouldn't work because people like him are generally one step away from finding any way possible to grief on their teammates. Case in point, from the games I saw from Tyler1 it wasn't rare to see him going AFK or inting when stuff went wrong.

At least make them work new accounts I suppose, since most people don't change their ways because they're set on the "omg this was an unfair ban", they're bound to do the same stuff that got them banned in the first place.

this would be nicer... I just got permed for toxic behavior and I wish there was an option in game to turn off chat, is there and I just didn't notice or something?

This. Makes sense to me.

Riot did have this in place, and it did not work. It led to a much higher level of trolling and afk in games.

Also, to clarify, Tyler1's account was not banned. The player was. He is not allowed to make new accounts and play on them. Unless he was recently unbanned in the last week, and I haven't heard about it. The only player I can think of to recently be unbanned was Jensen.

I agree with this. I've been permabanned twice. Still playing. Takes $15 dollars and one week to get to Level 30 on new account...or I could just do some a little shopping online.

If people abuse chat, take chat away from them. They'll probably appreciate it and I know I would as I hate chat. I've even asked for chat restrictions and they were declined.

Banning people just encourages them to make another account and makes them lose all of the stuff they have in the game. The punishment makes no sense from any stand point. If you want to ban feeders or leavers, I can understand it as that is detrimental to the game, but getting into fights in chat can be solved with mute - which should be fixed so mutes are actually permanent and don't expire in post-game chat.

riot doesn't really care about their players

they either permaban to increase sales since a few active players get another acc if they are permabanned or to fulfill their ideas of social justice like they are batmen wanting to punish all those n word users and stuff to better the world
