Perspective on never surrendering.
So I recently finished a match where the matchmaking system did a wonderful job of filling the entire enemy team with higher skill players than my own team, and we were getting slaughtered. Of course this was followed by my team spamming surrender votes from the 15 min mark all the way until the end of the match. I never surrender under any circumstance, so I clicked no as I always do, and this was followed by my team telling me that I shouldn't be allowed to hold them hostage, I'm such a troll, they can't wait to report me, etc etc etc. Is there a good portion of the community who actually believes that not giving into other players demands to surrender is trolling? I mean the whole point in having a voting system in the first place is to make it so that 4/5ths of the team must want to surrender. I find it amusing/disturbing because they just flame me the rest of the match, AFK in fountain and buy 6 tears. While I'm left 1v5 or 2v5 for the last 10 mins or so. I do report them for AFK/griefing/giving up/harassment/ETC, but I am always amazed that I am made out to be the bad guy for never quitting.
This issue stems from people who believe that playing a losing game is a waste of time, and that the moment your team falls into a significant deficit, you should surrender to maximize time efficiency and hurry up and get into the next winnable match. I disagree with the premise that the only purpose or fun in a game is playing it when it is winnable, losing is part of the process and I don't agree with the mindset of obsessing over climbing and rushing out of losing matches so you can hurry up and win again. That's just my two cents on the topic, and I would like to know other players thoughts on this and if I am in the minority here.
