Rage and Reports

So I guess I should start simple, Tilting happens.

When I play I expect players to understand their champions (ranked games) and understand what they counter and get countered by. We aren't all LCS I understand, but I expect players to have enough sense to research champions (builds, counters, masteries, runes, etc). I am currently in Silver and don't think its asking to much to not have a 0/5 player in 5 minutes of my games.

I was just recently in a game and had 2 players not understand how a Mastery Yi worked, because they died to a Yi (combined) a total of 8 times in 5 minutes. Now, I tilt. I tilt hard. A lvl 4 Yi with 8 kills in 5 minutes, what a good game. He runs around the entire map the rest of the game 1 hitting anyone that steps out from under a tower. I rage, I rage hard. I explain to Draven hey you need a bloodthirster and that you need to knock him aside to counter his heal between alpha strikes. That does nothing but make everyone flame at me.

Long story short, 2 players fed a Yi, and then when i call them out for feeding and building wrong...etc they flame at me like i was the intentional feeder. After game comes (we lose of course, no one could shut down yi, and no one took my advice on how to shut him down). I get reported by the draven and skarner...I report them for verbal and intentional feeding. I magically get a chat restriction because 2 people trolled my game, put me on tilt by intent feeding then raging back and forth but somehow riot is like...Well this guy, he tried to help them lets restrict him cause he said something in chat. When riot should been like....Lets look at the game footage and see what caused it all in the beginning...oh I see draven and skarner was intentional feeding and this guy was calling them out, lets restrict these 2 for feeding in ranked and leave this guy alone cause hes helping clean the community.

Eh, riot has no sense of reasoning to bans/restrictions...they read the chat logs but don't look at what causes the tilt, maybe if they would actually see what happens they would understand someone tilting cause of being trolled in low elo...or they just want players in bronze/silver/gold to completely hate life and stay there forever and rage every game so they can continue banning accounts and begin losing player base to HotS and other Moba games. But whatever riot thinks they have an unfair system to player reports.

you do realise that newer players (could be unfamiliar with the game) are placed in silver first.

The it is up to them to climb or drop. This is on both of the teams, so don't go complaining they only team with you.

also, for you to get chat restricted in that game, you

  1. need to have a series of games of showing toxicity

  2. have to been toxic

I doubt you were JUST giving them sound advice on how to build. tell us the thruth.

Logs or it didn't happen.

The moment you "called them out" was the same moment you added to the problem.

First, I doubt you called them out politely. This isn't an attack on you. It's just that most people think they weren't being toxic when they dismembered this but in reality were. If you were punished then you have the chat logs. Post them here so people can form their own opinion about your manner of calling people out. My experiences on these boards is when most people assume this position ("I was calling out a bad player.") they really were just being rather toxic towards someone who wasn't playing as well as they would have liked.

You're "trying to help" was most likely not very helpful. If your comments were "stop feeding" (for example) then that does nothing to help a player who may be struggling. By the way, I don't think saying "stop feeding" is a serious, punishable insult but I find it rude. Further, it doesn't help the situation. Even more toxic comments (which may be punishable) may even place the person you're "trying to help" on tilt.

Second, being reported by two people is the same as being reported as one. Extra reports do not give the reporting system extra weight.

Third, people are in Silver (and you are in Silver) because they are not consistent players. I am also a Silver player to this applies as much to me as anyone else at that tier. Some games we have great games, some games we have bad games. It happens. If people were to consistently be playing well, then they would't be in Silver, they'd be moving upwards.

Also, you are actually more likely to have that "0-5" person on the other team than your own if you truly are better than the division you are currently in. This is because the other team has five players who made be that person, your team only has four (because you should not count yourself, if you are truly not the issue).
