Low Priority Queue - Why I think it's disgusting

Hey there, I came here to discuss the topic 'Low Priority Queue'. First of all, I am not affected by it, nor have I been in the past and I doubt I will ever be. Just for the people are undoubtedly going to comment "you deserve your punishment". Now, moving on to my point. I personally believe that this system is just straight up stupid. It doesn't actually stop these people from leaving games, they will merely have to wait 5 or 20 minutes just to ruin more games. Temporary or Permanent Bans stop these people from doing that all together and on top of that, people who may have had an unlucky streak of real life emergencies, blue screens, power cuts or whatever there may be, will just have to wait the 1,2,7 or 14 days in order to be able to play again. Back when I got banned the first time I actually felt that I needed to change something, and I did. The amount of low priority queue games doesn't even get reduced over time, so you basically just get stuck with it until you waste immensely more time just to 'absolve' your punishment.

tl;dr complete fail by Riot (once again)

In terms of efficiency, there probably is a better punishment you're right.

But I definitely approve of it for now. Do you think this is less fair than a perma ban for these players? Because I think a perma ban would also be justifiable if rito had chosen to just do that instead with these players

If Riot could some how code a way for the client to server connection to detect unnatural DC's (net failure, power outage, crash) this might be alleviated to a degree but I don't know if its possible. I didn't get to finish my SAP Courses (Software Applications & Programming).

That said, I do agree if somebody pushes that LEAVE GAME Button and doesn't come back (I've done it one or twice to fix a glitch or to reconnect) they deserve the punishment. I don't want people who leave the rest of the team hanging on a regular basis in MY games.

Though thinking while writing this, It's only happened once for me and only one other team mate to leave. Net completely went down in the area and I got back literally for the last 30 seconds of the match, winning but that's not the point.

They do reduce over time. but it takes a lonnggg time to reduce leaver buster's tier.

How do I know? I've had series of family emergencies, have been on 5 min low priority queues for a few games then play bunch more games until I got a notification saying that I have reformed my AFK behavior.

Some time later, the family emergencies come up again and I had to AFK a few games, lo-and-behold, its a 5 min low priority queue.

A police officer gives tickets to warn/penalize a citizen or person they were violating road laws. You simply don't let them go away for free if they're speeding 120 on an 80 or better yet 60 on a 20.

I definitely agree here. I personally disconnected to fix a client side dc error and then i get LeaverBuster for 20 mins after weeks of vigilant playing. Either the LeaverBuster system needs to become softer with a faster decay time, or just completely revamped to suit people's needs.

One of my friends constantly had to leave during matches, and she's always put in the low priority queue. It's hard playing with her as a team because we all have to wait for 30 mins and be put in low priority queue :( She feels bad and usually just quits so we can play, but I feel guilty.
