Toxic behavior is not bad

This new fines by riot are ridiculous. Toxicity makes regions better and china/korea dont ban for toxicity. As soon as riot NA(the positivity care bear club penguin police) get there they start fining really good players for toxicity. Toxicity does not hinder a region, it improves it. The best regions in league are known for being toxic. LS said in rift rivals that tyler1 would've never been banned on Korea. People like UZI flame or int when the game is over. He is arguably the best player in the world rn. If he thinks the game is over, its over. Ik the djinn, umbral reagant, and periscope from this forum are gonna try to argue that rank does not matter but it does. So if you are silver or gold you have no right to say UZI deserves to get fined because your rank is so bad you do not understand the game. NA constantly wastes talent because we think toxicity is bad. Look at tarzaned2( better jungler than xmithie or grig) and gets denied into LCS because he is TOXIC. NA as a region is doomed if we keep going this way because all we care about is being positive and not about winning. Toxic players want to win and is shown by the best players in the world.

D5 trash checking in. Toxicity does nothing for upping a regions skill. You know what does? An entire social culture that encourages gaming and devoting lifestyles towards gaming, a massive societal movement to make gaming a social event in a spectator fashion, and huge cash influxes from respected companies like telecoms. (hi there Korea) Otherwise, why wouldn't euw be competitive?

Also, most of the player base plays for fun. Fuck your toxicity, I just wanna enjoy my game.

Toxicity makes regions better

No. You can say that theres correlation between toxicity and skill level but you cannot say theres causation (or at least all your examples right now are for correlation instead for causaton, so unless youre giving arguments for causation you cannot just presume this)

So if you are silver or gold you have no right to say UZI deserves to get fined because your rank is so bad you do not understand the game

No. You dont have to understand the game to understand how to be a decent person.

NA as a region is doomed if we keep going this way because all we care about is being positive and not about winning.

Im also doubtful of this claim. Sure you can say that some pros are being denied into the pro scene because of toxicity, but you also cannot deny that positivity of the game make more new talent and players join the game who woulve otherwise not joined because of the toxicity.

I mean, the players in Korean SoloQ are the ones who reported the player for their actions. Not NA.

No one on the board has the right to say who gets fined. You know who actually does? The officials in charge of the game or venue. It's even on that page;

9.2.7 Player Behavior Investigation. If WCE or Riot determines that a Team Member has violated the Summoner’s Code, the LoL Terms of Service, or other rules of LoL, WCE officials may assign penalties at their sole discretion.

Quibbling over which rank a person has before they "deserve" to agree/disagree with the decision is stupid. These people were fined for their behavior, not their skill.

I'm curious, how does it make a region better? I think you are mistaking a causal relationship without any accounting for other factors, such as the fact that the culture in South Korea and China have, historically, been more accepting of gaming as a profession, while in the US (and to some degree Europe), this is relatively new.

That is just one factor, where there could be hundreds or thousands of variables to take into account.

Mostly agree.

NA is too sensitive,no one can take criticism, and people mute at the first sign of someone getting upset. People here prioritise their feelings over the damn game. People need to improve their mentalities,if we want NA to be a truly competitive region, and to stop getting made fun of by other regions. Idk if Riot lyte is the cause of this, but people need to improve their mentals.

Most of them were fined for racist remarks... so is this just another one of those Alt-Right attempts at trying to "normalize" their rhetoric so they don't get continuously bitched out for it?

go back to your plantation if that's really what this is about

EvilDustMan10/8/2018, 2:47:18 PM3 votes

Because as a majority, that's what Korea wants. As a majority, NA wants annoying players to take a hike.

Why do you base your opinions on some video game players opinions? So if the best in the world said "toxicity is bad" you would use that as an example that toxicity is bad? Just think for yourself man. How old is this "UZI" feller? 20? Youre heeding the wisdom of a young man? Someone who has a completely different life than you, with different experiences and viewpoints growing up in a completely different environment than you?

I mean, are you suggesting that hes good BECAUSE of his toxicity? You think toxicity has anything to do with skill? I dont give a fuck about toxicity and I think Riots policies are actually kind of stupid, but your argument is complete bullshit imo.

if you say so...

I agree that anti-toxicity policies hurt the game. They can potentially remove highly skilled players up to the point of being abused. The most outrageous case is Likkrit's one. What he said on his private stream: CIS region doesn't pay their players. CIS region has to die.

How it was interpreted: Wishing death upon as many people as the entire region is unacceptable.

So...one of the most passionate players who deeply cared about community ended up quitting the game.
