Would You Like a Chatless Ranked Feature?

Not everybody might think that a match where nobody had a chatbox optional would be ideal. But I feel that many more people might enjoy this lack of distraction and increased competitive element than they might think. Is this something that appeals to you?

Disabling our own vision of chat does not prevent our teammates from spending their entire game typing in chat and making bad decisions because their morale is low from other's responses to what they typed. We need a bit more.

There is a new season coming up and I believe most players would benefit from seeing more effort put into the community mind-set BEFORE skins/chromas and map candy.

This would be an appealing feature. Tired of my teammates typing all game while i'm playing my heart out.

Give the players an option before queuing up if they want the chat allowed in the match or not, like just a check-box. That way other players can still play in the other mode if they want. Nobody loses.

Disabling the chat for everyone is not an option. At the very most, it would be opt-in - meaning an individual player could disable their chat/chat visibility, but that would not affect other players. Making disabled chat mandatory for everyone simply will not be considered, solely because you'd ruin the games of those that use chat for communication for the sake of those that would prefer no chat at all. (And that latter audience is a niche one, mind.)

IIRC, one of your arguments in your previous thread was that chat isn't necessary for communication in League. Here's an issue with that argument; while it may not be necessary for the most baseline of communication, it's still necessary for more complex/in-depth communication. I can't say "ward baron" "ward river" or "we need someone split-pushing" through pings.

There is a new season coming up and I believe most players would benefit from seeing more effort put into the community mind-set BEFORE skins/chromas and map candy.

Removing chat wouldn't be putting effort into the community's mindset. It'd be depriving them of a part of the game, however small.

And besides; what about those like me who use chat to rally our teammates and lift morale?

This probably should have taken priority over an in-game voice system . Haha but now's better than never.

I think they should allow it just for personal preference. None of that bullshit you said like "increased competitive element" makes sense... but yes you should be able to disable chat if you dont want chat. Simple. Its a game. Let players choose. I dont think an entire new ranked mode is necessary. Just let players choose individually.

it absolutely blows me away how many people come to this forum to express the fact that they have literally no self control

I would love a chatless option. But I'll just keep muting everyone. I've never heard helpful comments in chat; all I heard are insults.

Pretty sure all chat is off by default, I remember not knowing all chat existed for the first couple of seasons I played. It just seemed normal to be, why would I need to talk to the opponent. Then it dawned on me, make them tilt. 😂 😂
