Ranked Rewards & Honour level

I am looking for some clarification about how the Ranked Rewards are going to work at the end of this season, as well as moving forward.

For context, I have played since S1, and it used to be that you only lost the rewards (the Skin) if you were banned at the time of the season ending.

Now, it seems like if you are not at Honor Level 2 you lose EVERYTHING --- that includes the Ranked Border (which is all I truly care about on my alts) ... but is that really the case?

I just got this account to Platinum 5 today, and I am HL-0 ... I am not dishonorable anymore, just HL-0. This is because I was a mean boy and told someone they were being outjungled by the enemy support and to stop talking to me (No racial slur, no profanity, no trolling, mild toxic banter.) --- I climbed the account from Gold 4 to Plat since that chat ban, and in the 40 sum odd games it took I obviously am not budging on the honor scale --- I think it would be quite literally impossible to fix my honor in time to get the ranked rewards at this point, and I didn't even realize it until after the climb was done.

What is the actual point to playing Ranked if you are dishonorable? If you get no rewards for it, your climb is but for nothing. It also completely deters people from wanting to play at the end of the season; why risk it? The ban system isn't in a state where you only get demonized and punished for truly abhorrent behavior; just simply bantering your teammates is considered toxic enough to warrant a mute.

It feels like the best way to deal with toxic teammates is to just alt-f4 (I don't do this, you can check my match history lol) ... Leaverbuster bans don't affect honor, muting teammates and worsening your score could lead to reports for alternative reasons, and generally you can't talk about things or be critical of teammates anymore.

I think losing the participation medal for getting into a rank because of Honor is silly; and completely demotivates your average player from participating OR from talking to their team long term, but that is neither here nor there ^^

Just looking for clarification, will I be stuck with no border arbitrarily next season? Thanks :)

The average player isn't punished for toxicity so it doesn't affect them.

The honor 2 requirement for rewards was made public before the season started. If you chose to ignore it, thats your problem and ignorance is not an excuse either.

If you aren't at least at check point h1-2, you probably don't have enough time to get out.

better matchmaking. normals matchmaking is actually terrible.

It also completely deters people from wanting to play at the end of the season

no it doesn't, first because normals has terrible matchmaking, second because not being toxic is easy.

It feels like the best way to deal with toxic teammates is to just alt-f4

if you have no self-control at all, it is. the first time I was 2 week banned, when I was 19, that's what I actually had to do for a week or so, until I got used to muting. but for most people, you just mute all and don't chat.

muting teammates and worsening your score could lead to reports for alternative reasons

not communicating is not against the rules. if they report you and you did nothing wrong, the report is disregarded.

will I be stuck with no border arbitrarily next season?

no, because they're changing ranked rewards next season. borders are updated as you rank up/down.
