Riot's Punishment System <Suggestions>

I'm writing this in regards to every players that has been 14 days ban and perma-banned before. Do vote for this discussion if you agree with me, this is my first time creating a discussion so do excuse my amatuerish* discussion.

To start off, I'm a Singapore league player - highest rank: Plat IV. (I get it, it isn't that high) that has been playing in Garena Singapore servers since last November 2017. Garena doesn't have a server so I thought I'd post this issue on NA forum.

My main account -Nevixal (Gold) had two 14 days ban and 1 perma ban. 2nd account -NiubNiubNiubNiub that my friend gave me had one 14 days ban and another account -Feista just recently had a 14 days ban.

Storytime: Now, I'm not writing this to plead innocence, I do admit that it IS my fault that those accounts got banned. However, I do want to address one issue about my latest account ban; the weirdest ban I've ever received. That account was pretty clean, not even a single chat ban and had Honor 3. This account was literally my reformed account. So what happened was that I had a five days holidays overseas where I couldn't touch league. On day four, I was so excited to go back home to play some league especially because of patch 8.24, nexus blitz etc. Day five, I reached home, unpacked and played some nexus blitz. One of the games I played tilted me and of course I flamed someone in nexus blitz but I din't receive any sort of punishment that day. Two days later, after one of my game, I suddenly got a 14 days banned, and it used the chat log that I flamed TWO DAYS AGO. Not even a chat restriction, nooope, went straight to 14 days ban. Great, just great. (Just for the record I never int my games, it's just the flaming part. It kinda gets to me whenever inting player don't get banned as often as flaming player) zzz

Suggestions: All these bans could've been avoided if:

FIRSTLY, is of course for me to control my temper and to stop flaming.

SECONDLY, Riot could just create a mute yourself option that allows players to continue typing and vent their anger towards the chat box that no one is able to read.

THIRDLY, can't Riot just create a VISIBLE demerit system FOR EVERY PLAYERS TO SEE IN THEIR PROFILE (I've read a thread somewhere whom someone said that Riot uses this system but it isn't visible for players, well I don't know if this is true or not so I'm just gonna say: P L E A S E! M A K E I T V I S I B L E!)

So about this demerit system, every players start off with 100 points. For every game they flame or throw whatsoever, they deduct a certain amount of points. Once they've reached 50 points and below they get chat restricted and once it reached 0 points - 14 days ban. After the ban they start off again with 70 points. After two 14 days banned the last ban would be perma-banned (Just like how it is now). Every game when there's no flaming or inting kda, they gain certain amount of points. That's about the gist of it.

I do feel that this is the most effective system because players are able to track their demerits and stop flaming once they realised they are about to get punished. I do realise that they are some flaws (not gonnna go in to it) but I'm sure with the help of the many rioter's brain they could reduce the impact of the flaws.

I also do understand that they may have considered this before so on behalf of every league players, I created a poll to help you with your decision.

Thanks for reading!

PS:(Hey rito if you decide to implement this system, do make throwers deduct more points than flamers and those that play very well and not flame gain more points. ;D) and the league client is really buggy sometimes lmao.

Controlling yourself is vital in every aspect of being a human. There is a saying, "Everything in moderation." Moderation means being under control. Take the actions you want to take that will lead to the outcomes you desire.

If you want to send a muted message, hit ESC instead of ENTER after typing your message. No one sees the muted message and muted messages are not moderated.

A visible demerit system would be used to maximize toxicity.

Riot will not implement a feature that allows you to handicap your teammates simply because you can't control yourself.

What benefit would making this information public have other than to allow players to be rude towards those with "low merit"?

I'm going to guess that Riot doesn't want to implement something like this because it would give certain people a sense that they can be toxic because they have wiggle room. Too many people would go, "I'm still at 80 points, I can freely flame this game."

Riot wants you to be stressed like you are about to get banned all the time. They also don't want you to reverse engineer what is detectable without getting banned, because their system has more holes in it than my favourite cheese. Twitch

You should also not share accounts.

Can we see your reform card for the newest account?

I agree with what everyone else has said, a visible demerit system would just make it easier for people to toe the line. People who get punished are in a vast minority and the numbers of people who get multiple punishments are minuscule, so it's not even needed for the majority of players. So much work for people they don't even want to have playing the game.

Why on earth would anyone want a mute me option? Isn't that just the chat ban system aka a PUNISHMENT? If you have so little self control that not even mute all can help you, just stop playing multiplayer games. Go play single player where you can flame the npc's to your hearts content "What the fuck are you doing Garrus, let's just run right into melee range of that Brute, that's exactly where I want my fucking sniper."

As for your recent 2 day later 14 day ban, that game probably got kicked into a manual review queue. When someone got to it, they likely decided that due to the severity of the toxicity it justified a 14 day rather than just a chat ban. If you really want to know, you can put in a support ticket to request an explanation or you can post your logs here and we can pick them apart (don't do this, we're not gonna tell you anything you don't already know, I'm just trying to bait out Riot Tantrum).

You can get a 14day ban straight up depending on what you said. Also its nexus blitz, so there's literally 0 excuse for you to flame other than you being an actual lump of faecal matter.

The whole "let me mute myself" thing has been discussed in the past, tyler1 has brought it up numerous times and spoken to riot directly many many times and they have decided against it. Besides an option to mute yourself works against you, any valid report of flaming will increase in severity under the terms "Why didn't you just mute yourself?". The problem is you have no self-control, so having an option to mute yourself doesn't fix the issue.
