How does one appeal a suspension?

I get a 14 day suspension based on a chat log from one game, according to an e-mail I received. In the e-mail is a link about the "effort to encourage more sportsmanlike play," the chat log, and a header and footer. That's pretty much it.

Riot seems to take great concern about my attitude, so why isn't there a link to seek counseling for my behavioral issues? Or to appeal a suspension?

Because we are all adults here, you know exactly what you did to get banned and just because you refuse to act like an adult means they shouldn't have to hold your hand and tell you to shape up.

Actually, we aren't all adults here. That's why riot is holding the hands of the children and punishing people for language.

Yes, I know what I said. I would apologize directly to the players that were offended if I felt they were actually offended. People laughed.

I feel like a 14 day ban for a single offense is somewhat excessive, and somebody should be able to plead their case. At least I still play the game right no matter what happens in it. Shouldn't I have been merely chat restricted?

As of patch 5.18, which was in mid-September, punishments are given out in this order:

1.) 10 game chat restriction 2.) 25 game chat restriction 3.) 14 day ban 4.) Permanent ban

The way it works is once you receive one punishment, your next offense will give you the next highest tier of punishment, regardless of how "minor" your offense may have been. It is possible for Riot to escalate you straight to a 14 day or permanent ban, but Riot really only does this if they deem your case severe enough. Also, it is possible to lower your punishment level by one tier if you go 3 months without receiving any punishments.

Something to keep in mind, too, is that even though you were only sent chat logs for 1-3 games, those chat logs are not necessarily the only ones you were punished for. The system doesn't send you all of the chat logs that you were punished for, only the most recent. It is possible to be punished for only one game, but it has to be very extreme for that to happen.

So, my question to you is, have you received a 25 game chat restriction within the past 3 months? If you have, then the 14 day ban is standard for the next punishment. If you haven't, then it's quite likely that Riot deemed your case severe enough to escalate you straight to a 14 day ban.

Now, if you believe that you should not have received a 14 day ban, your best bet is to submit a support ticket here to talk with Riot directly about your punishment. It's quite rare, but it is possible there was a mistake made on Riot's end, and I'm positive that Riot is more than willing to fix it if there was. Note that it may take a while to get a response, so you will need to be patient.

You can appeal a suspension by submitting a ticket to Riot Themselves and asking them what you did wrong why your account was suspended, if "Indeed it wasn't suspended because of chat toxicity" then it was likely suspended for acts of "Passive Trolling" or "Griefing" or other various forms of game-play sometimes their systems can make a mistake although it is rare.

While Riot says you can't appeal a suspension, this is not true, if its in error, or you honestly did something wrong but didn't get your logs or something they can tell you and show you, the thing about Riot is they don't want over 1000+ Appeals a day when players know what they did wrong.

Confused that a game making so much money from their customers refuses to look into reports that lead to a suspension. Sometimes pointing out obvious flaws can lead to a report and everyone calling you toxic. Summoners agreement was made to prevent Riot having to bother hiring staff to provide help in these circumstances.
