Take the pledge with me!
I started to play league of legends just before ekko was released, so I haven't been playing for very long. However, i am probably one of the most toxic players that i know. I go to the store and buy unsalted chaps, because when i reach my hand in to eat after playing a game, i cant taste the difference. But in all seriousness, i have not only made my chances of winning suffer (A good / happy personality can have up to a 10% higher win rate than average, while a toxic player can have up to a 35% lower win rate than average) but i have made the community worse, and for that i am sorry. I was recently in a game that literally made me want to die how toxic my team was, as i was going through a rough patch in real life and everything the said really hit the nail on the head for me, they lied in all chat, they flamed me, and they fed my lane. Here is an example of the text (i was karthus and i was duoQing with blitzcrank, but he doesnt get involved in /all chat)
hey, please stay out of my lane
runs down lane twice, smites cannon both times, misses spear then dives full hp ahri under tower
/all please report nidalee, she is feeding my lane
/all He is calling me bad, putting me on tilt AF
Nidalee STOP
Shutup homo %%% peice of shit.
Now most players would have just muted nidalee at this point, but because i was really salty / butthurt / had a bad day i didn't, and It was at this point nidalee's duoQ stepped in ( i think nid might've been trioQing but i am not sure, however all 3 besides my duoQ were trolling)
/all Karthus just called nidalee a homo %%% piece of shit. ( <straight up lie )
/all no i didn't, please believe me.
yes he did, i bet the adc will also agree.
/all DRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAVEN (he didn't actually say draven, although it would be cool if he did) Yeah, and in champ select he said he was a daimond 3 karthus main smurf, but now he is feeding / flaming (didnt say i was a smurf, and i had the most kills on my team, as nidalee and lisandra were both 0-6, although nidalee had gotten an assist at this point)
Enemy:
/all Yeah stop feeding, wow so sorry your team has a feeding %%%got.
It was at this moment i got angry and started typing in caps stuff like "NIDALEE I'M NOT FEEDING YOU ARE YOU PIECE OF SHIT", or "LISANDRA GO FUCK YOURSELF AND NIDALEE STOP FEEDING MY LANE". Do i regret saying those things? To them i'll be honest, i don't, (being as they made me litterally hold a knife to my wrist and take a hard look at my life) but i regret saying those things at all. I Made the community a worse place, had i muted nidalee in the first place, none of this would've happened.
Since this incident i have signed up to see a counselor after thinking about ending my life, so sorry any trolls who are going to post sh*t on this thread, your too late to tell me to do it.
So, i propose a pledge. A pledge that if we all take, we can make the community a better place, a place where people can talk without caps lock on, a place where replies don't begin with "OH YEAH FUCKFACE," and a place were people don't want to kill themselves after trying to unwind from a miserable day.
If you decide to take the pledge with me, here it is: I pledge not to insult, flame, or otherwise discourage / abuse any player of League of Legends, or any other game that i play. I pledge to put incidents to bed BEFORE they get out of hand by using the mute button. I pledge to NEVER feed a lane for ANY reason whatsoever, even if they do so to me (looking at you nidalee, Kappa). I pledge to not only make the game fun for me, but also try to make the game funner for other people. I pledge to actively seek out anybody in my game who is sad / angry, and try to cheer them up. I pledge to NEVER abuse the power of DuoQ to win arguments in /all chat, or lie in /all chat. I pledge to never report someone who is undeserving of a report because they are bad at the game / made mistakes. And above all, i pledge to NEVER, EVER have to buy unsalted chips again.
Thank you for those who took your time to read this entire thing, and thank those of you who took the pledge with me, and making the community a better place for all of us.
