I just got demoted because of an inting Annie

I was just playing a game where I hovered GP and our jg hovered nocturne. Our mid laner (Annie) and support then banned the two champs. We figured it's nothing to tilt over, probably just an honest mistake because we've done the same. I then managed to crush top lane as Galio getting a really good lead, first turret, and Rift Herald. The game was looking good for us as we got all the enemy team's outer turrets. However, Annie was getting pissed of at our ADC because he didn't push whenever she wanted to. So despite Annie playing well enough early game, she gave up and ran it down mid, intentionally feeding for the rest of the game, causing the loss. The let the enemy team get back in the game and crush what essentially became a 4v5. This loss is what caused me to get demoted from S2 to S3.

I will gladly take a demotion if it's my own skill level that got me there, but when an intentional feeder demotes me, I don't get how that's fair. Something needs to be done about how many people are like this in this game, ruining the experience for everyone and giving up LP that we work so hard for. Just a few games ago I had a Cho who lost badly in lane against a Singed and then proceeded to sit in the fountain for the rest of the game, flaming in all chat.

That's why we have a reporting system. It's not perfect, but if you report her and describe her actions, it's likely it will be counted against her, possibly leading to punishment.

Would you prefer something else? If so, what?

I have seen recent cases of people complaining here about being banned for inting and feeding. It is harder to detect those than toxic chat, though. It can often take a judgement call that only a human can currently make, and Riot just can't provide the manpower to manually review that many cases. Riot has definitely been getting better at detecting AFK. You can wander around in the game, fire off abilities, and still be counted as AFK by the system if you don't actually contribute anything.

I feel like all of us have had this issue at some point or another in our promotions, not to mention ranked as a whole. The best thing to do is keep your head up and move on. If you truly belong in that next division you will reach your promotions again in no time! Here is another thing to help: Negative Players, whatever the reason, are more likely to be on the enemy team then yours! I am defining negative by players who are AFK/Toxic/INT'ing, NOT having a bad game.

Lets take an example game where there is a negative player. There are 9 other people in the game that you have no control over. This is assuming you are not negative yourself and conduct yourself with thought to the Summoners Code. Of these 9 players, 5 of them are on the enemy team and 4 of them are on yours (as you take up one of the 5 spots on your team). This means that with 9 people in the game, if there is a negative player there is roughly a 55% chance that said negative player is on the enemy team and roughly a 44% chance that they are on your team! While that still means there is a negative player, that 11% difference can be a big deal.

I'd personally love it if my win rate went up 11%... It would be at like... 12% but that's a different story!

Best advice is just keep your head up, realize that you will be back up in your promotions in no time and that this is NOT the norm when there is a negative player!

Best of luck on the Rift, Kuthillick
