The problem with Junglers

DarkinPrime·2/26/2019, 5:15:59 AM·3 votes·7,791 views

Ego. An a warped sense of justice.

All too often they will refuse to help your lane because

  1. They don't like your pick, so they want to teach you a lesson somehow by refusing to help you

  2. They don't like that you got behind, and they are annoyed that you are asking for help therefore, to teach you a lesson, they will let you go down in flames for the rest of the laning phase.

The bottom like is, even in ranked, players would rather stick it to you, rather than do what it takes to try to win.

That, my friends, is what happens when unchecked ego's play this game.

You have insanely high deaths in all your games. This makes it impossible for the jungler to have an impact because your lane opponent is so far ahead that they can 1v2. This is why your jungler gets upset. Learn to play safer when behind.

Lets give you a quick lesson

  1. If you pick a champ with no cc how do you expect to set up ganks while keeping the wave just outside their turret range or with no ward control?
  2. Junglers arent supposed to gank losing lanes because it can cause the jungler to fall behind and lose your entire team the game.

Let me stop you before you emberass yourself, if you’re willing to listen

Jungle main here, gold elo currently, and i love playing proactive jungles like Vi, Kayn, Rammus, and now a smidge of Rek’sai since shes just that op right now

If a jungle does not like a champion pick specifically, theres usually only two major reasons: Either the champion puts the burden of the entire gank on the jungler, like a soraka top or other champs with no engage or hard CC OR The jungler isnt well versed in seeing the champion played (ganking for a strange off-meta pick like singed ADC or Azir top) so much so that they’d rather not risk

Alternatively, the ENEMY laner may be an obscure and high threat pick like a Rek’sai top or a really hard to catch champ like an Ezreal or Tristana

If you harrass your jungler with flame or pingspams, they may well decide you’re not going to be cooperative or may become a liability, so theyd go onto plan B, which coincidentally i will now talk about replying to the next part;

Now on to your second made-up gripe, and what it means to the jungler that you may be missing: A losing lane will often be dropped because of strategic reasons. Tell me which sounds like the better choice here, one lane is HARD losing. Two lanes are doing average.

Would you rather spend the entire game trying to dig the player, who already proved they are less skilled than their lane opponent, and let the enemy jungler ruin your other 2 lanes into a loss and thus win a game with 4 or 5 full power enemies versus MAYBE two if the jng successfully gets the top fed

Or alternatively, push all the influence into winning the other 2 lanes, then outnumbering the one LARGE threat 4-to-1?

Its much more likely for 4 full strength winning champs to beat one, than two kind-of-okay strength players against a whole team of fed players.

Good junglers dont ignore winnable lanes. They want to win as much as everyone else. If someone seems like a liability to the game, or that helping would be a way to lose the lead the jungler has, they will. Every decision is a calculated risk, and ideally the least likely to fail. You gotta reflect and ask if that liability is you, if this is frequent.

Heres an idea to understand why we do what we do:

Look up some guides on pathing and ganking. Try playing jungle for a week and cater to people the way they want you to, and then play the way i described, ignoring losing lanes and snowballing good lanes to outnumber the lost lane. If you do it right, there’s only a couple hypercarry champs that can 1v5 a team with 4 fed players. Thats a small handfull out of like 160 champs, and some (like Yasuo) will usually be banned by one side or the other. Those are good odds

Alternatively, ask some jungles about why they do what they do when it comes to deciding which lanes to ignore or camp, and if you ask nicely they’ll usually be more than happy to respond. See how many give you the response I’ve given

I personally don't think it's really ego. If you're getting behind, it's likely your fault for doing so. If you call for a gank, jungler is coming to help and you aren't in position to take down target & jungle dies, that's rather frustrating for junglers. Please, please don't blame the junglers for your own mistakes.

ITT OP projects his own massively inflated ego on other players/posters and throws a fit when people disagree with him.

why am i not shocked that someone who has a constant horrible kda has no idea how junglers work.

i also love your line of "thats what happens when unchecked egos play this game" so you are saying if your jungler isnt always only playing around you he is egoistic. but the fact that you demand your jungler to be basically your slave isnt egoistic?

They "ignore" you because your lane is not a good place to spend time at.

Quáx2/26/2019, 2:26:06 PM5 votes

Junglers job isn't to win you the lane. That's your job, they'll come to your lane to give you a lead and maybe pick up a kill, but it's not their job to win your lane. And if you flame a jungler while you're behind(which I assume you're doing considering your match history) then you're fucking done for. People don't wanna help you if you're being a dick, it's not ego, its the better thing to do IMO. As someone who mained jungle for two years, I can say that if a lane is losing, you don't gank that lane, you gank lanes that are even/ahead because going to a losing lane could potentially mean a double kill and making things worse.

Since the dawn of time, Junglers have known. Never gank a lane that is behind.

Stone7662/26/2019, 2:13:34 PM4 votes

No.

As a jungle main I am here to verify the only reasons I wouldn't gank your lane is bc your 0-10 and it's already too late, and at that point it's better to help the winning lanes snowball faster.

Or its bc you were an asshole like in this post and I personally dont want to gank you.

I've never heard of someone not ganking bc of a pick and that 2nd one is kinda right in a diff way, it's better and easier to snowball a winning lane then to attempt to turn around a lane that went 0-10.

Feeds lane with an average score of 5-10 complains the jg is trying to save the game from a fed lanner. I didnt know silver had players like you... Jg doesn't help losing lanes for a reason, especially if youre feeding every game. [slayer-jinx-unamused]
