so basically if you spend money with riot, and you receive a ban you cannot use the product which you have paid for, how do they even justify this?

You pay to watch a movie you then start to scream at the other people leading to them kicking you out, do you get your money back then?

why does Riot Steal from you?

They don't. You give them money, they let you rent the use of their content in their game. If you break the rules (I.E., breaking your end of the deal with them), they're not obligated to pay you back.

UnboundHades' analogy is a really, really good one.

They don't. You willingly paid to get optional content, which Riot provided to you. It would be fraud if they didn't provide you the content you paid for but they did. Just because they banned the player for consistently poor behavior doesn't mean they didn't provide them with the service they paid for beforehand. Speaking of which we technically don't own anything on our account as per the Terms of Use:

4.3. Do I “own” the Virtual Goods I unlock? (No. What you “unlock” is not the virtual good itself, but rather, a qualified right to access it in the Game.) You have no ownership or other property interest in any of the Virtual Goods you unlock, regardless of whether you acquired access to those Virtual Goods using Riot Points, Blue Essence or Hextech Crafting. Virtual Goods have no monetary value. You can’t redeem them for cash. You can’t obtain any refunds for purchasing Riot Points or Virtual Goods, except as expressly permitted by us. You can find our current content refund policy here.

We have the right to delete, alter, move, remove, or transfer any and all Game Content—including Virtual Goods—in whole or in part, at any time and for any reason or no reason, with or without notice to you, and with no liability of any kind to you. We don’t provide or guarantee, and expressly disclaim, any value, cash or otherwise, attributed to any data residing on servers we operate or control, including any Game Content attributed to your account. The sale or transfer of your right to access certain Virtual Goods, Blue Essence, Riot Points or Hextech Items may only be conducted via services approved of or provided by us, if any.

4.4. Once again: I don’t own these Virtual Goods? (“No!” shouted all the lawyers.) NOTWITHSTANDING ANYTHING TO THE CONTRARY HEREIN, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT YOU SHALL HAVE NO OWNERSHIP OR OTHER PROPERTY INTEREST IN YOUR ACCOUNT, AND THAT ALL RIGHTS IN AND TO YOUR ACCOUNT ARE AND SHALL FOREVER BE OWNED BY AND INURE TO THE BENEFIT OF RIOT GAMES. YOU FURTHER ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT YOU HAVE NO CLAIM, RIGHT, TITLE, OWNERSHIP, OR OTHER PROPRIETARY INTEREST IN THE GAME CONTENT THAT YOU UNLOCK OR ACCUMULATE, REGARDLESS OF ANY CONSIDERATION OFFERED OR PAID IN EXCHANGE FOR RIOT POINTS OR VIRTUAL GOODS. FURTHERMORE, RIOT GAMES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE IN ANY MANNER FOR THE DESTRUCTION, DELETION, MODIFICATION, IMPAIRMENT, HACKING, OR ANY OTHER DAMAGE OR LOSS OF ANY KIND CAUSED TO THE GAME CONTENT, VIRTUAL GOODS OR RIOT POINTS, INCLUDING THE DELETION OF GAME CONTENT, VIRTUAL GOODS OR RIOT POINTS UPON THE TERMINATION OR EXPIRATION OF YOUR ACCOUNT.

Read the terms of service before giving any company your money. If you don't like the TOS, then don't give them your money. Best part is, LoL is FREE. You never need to give them money and they will let you play their game... as long as you are not a jerk.

They don't steal your money. You agreed that if you do put money into the game, it belongs to them. Also, you agreed to that if you do go against the Terms of Use, you agreed that if you do disregard their policy, they have the rights to ban you. You also agreed that Riot will not be liable to you and if you do get banned, you get no refunds.

So let's ask a more logical question. A question that should impact your life and should question your every decision. Well, of course, that's if you're not anymore ignorant than this question you've asked.

**Here's the question. **

  • When you sign a contract or agree to any policy, why in the blue hell would you not read the contract or policy before signing or agreeing to them?

That's the proper question you should ask. Hell, you don't need to ask the board this. Since it's your own mind that impacts your every choice.

This is a F2P game and spending money on it is 100% optional. And you expect riot to give you back your money because you didn't read the TOS and broke the rules?[slayer-jinx-unamused]

When you pay them, you exchange it with ingame currency (RP in this case).

They fulfilled their obligation in giving you RP, so they really didn't steal anything from you.

Since everybody else has explained it fully, I'll add the reverse: If refunds were given when your account got banned, I would 100% flame my way into a ban right this moment. I've spent north of $500 on this game, and I'd happily pocket that right now.

You don't buy the product. You pay to rent the product lmao time to learn how to read ToS

You sound like someone who buy from your grocery store for years, then complained for getting banned for beating up some customers. You pay for services, but if you break their rules, that's 100% your own doing.

Alright I guess ill make life easier for you, since finding information to answer the question yourself is apparently too big a bother. You are RENTING virtual property. Everything you spend money on is merely spent so that Riot allows you to use it. You dont own anything. So yeah, how do they steal their own property from you?
