Can I get in trouble if I say nothing?

So I've been playing a lot of games lately. I've decided to not talk at all in the game. I use pings and emotes frequently.

Usually I play support and I roam quite a bit. I ping where I'm going. If bot lane is losing hard I may just entirely roam. I'll always end up with at least an A- in every game. So it's not like I'm feeding or doing poorly.

Win or lose, without fail, somebody in post game chat begs for my report for toxicity. Which I find amusing because I literally say nothing at all. Can I still get in trouble? I immediately report people who beg for my reports and say in the comments that they're harassing me by begging for reports in post game chat.

Honestly, I'm not sure how to be a part of the LoL community. If you talk a lot you will just get in trouble. If you don't talk... well you still piss people off.
It's really some special snowflake stuff.

So can I get in trouble if my chat logs are literally empty?

You can say as much or little as you want and you will never be punished.

refusing to communicate is not a report option

even when it was years ago, it was just a placebo report that doesn't really go anywhere

Yes, you can even get permabanned for it.

The only thing worse than wishing cancer on someones family in game is to just say nothing all game. By refusing to communicate you are basically saying to your team that they are all thrash not worth talking to for you, which is a very toxic attitude. It's a psychological thing.

If you decide to continue this toxic behavior, you might get banned.

If you're not doing anything worthy of being punished then you won't be punished. If you get enough reports against you the system might flag you for a manual review and a Rioter might talk to you about what's going on and why you're doing what you're doing.

But, end of the day, if you're not being toxic and you're trying to win you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

Yes. That's just how they'll do ya.

Hm that's odd. I also play support and use pings and emotes way more than I use chat but I usually end up with a bunch of honors instead of people asking to report me. I feel like there is something missing from your description of how you play, like maybe -- total shot in the dark here -- you could be using emotes or pings to try and tilt your fellow players.

I dunno, just a thought.

You can't be punished for actions you don't do.

No, though it's absurd how deeply Riot like to police chat. Saying "gg ez" is somehow a bannable offense even if it's at the very end of the game lmao.
