Why so Negative? Have a Dose of Optimism!

SHORT RANT TIME! :D I played a bunch of One for All the past couple of days, and I LOVE that mode, such great fun. The players I encountered therein, on the other hand, could use some serious pep. So disregarding the straight up trolls, here's a message for all those Debbie/Derek Downers and Negative Nancy/Nathans (of which I found a great many in just a handful of games):

Don't give up and suggest we forfeit as soon something takes a wrong turn. Bad stuff happens. We overcome it. I'm talking to you Mr. Doomsays-then-quits-after-one-death-as-a-Zed-guy. (We beat them 4v5 after you left bud, should've stayed, see?)

Don't constantly doomsay (which basically means "to imply bad stuff will happen soon") in the first 25 minutes of a match just because the enemy team is stronger early game. There are cases where the enemy team comp has the ability stomp your team early, it happens- but if 2 to 3 of your teammates say there's still a good chance of victory, why quit? See it through, just because you can't see a path to victory doesn't mean your teammates can't. Doomsaying also reduces your entire team's morale, so if you think things are going poorly, bring it up tactfully, like "Hey we should probably focus this guy/group up/take more objectives/build more MR/whatever!". Be constructive rather than destructive to help bring about your victory, not ensure your defeat.

Don't immediately give up hope just because you've never played the champ before. This might be more common in Rotating Game modes, but still. Take it as an opportunity to learn a new champ, go through and read their abilities' descriptions in the first couple minutes of the game, there's more than enough time to get an idea of their play style(even for slow readers like me, who has to re-read everything 2 or 3 times). Let your teammates know you're new to the champ and ask for advice, what abilities to choose, items to build, whatever you're unsure of. Ignore the rude ones if you get called out for not knowing how to play the champ, but if someone genuinely offers you advice, then at the very least, remember that advice, even if you don't end up using it.

Do communicate with your team, if you need help, ask for help, be it pings or in chat. You're not playing a solo game, if your teammates are able, they'll probably respond and help. All trolls aside, your teammates want to win too you know. Communication is a big factor in securing victory, whether it's setting up a gank or pinging MIAs, so don't be afraid to ping if you don't feel like talking.

Do think more optimistically, look forward not back or down. At the end of the day it IS just a game, there's no good reason to be so negative about it. Most of us are just here to have a bit of fun after all.

Have some quotes~

"Defeat is not the worst of failures. Not having tried is the true failure."

Being defeated is often a temporary condition. Giving up is what makes it permanent.

Defeat should never be a source of discouragement but rather a fresh stimulus.

It is inevitable that some defeat will enter even the most victorious life. The human spirit is never finished when it is defeated...it is finished when it surrenders.

I learned much more from defeat than I ever learned from winning.

'K, bye now.

Only new players and hardcore ELO grinders don't ff when the game isn't fun. It's poor morality to expect every player out there to play that way.
