Annoying, Obnoxious Ping Spam
Just came out of a match where our bot duo was super toxic. Our jungler told them they were muted and next thing you know it bot lane wouldn't stop pinging. Also, a few games back, someone on our team was using the blue ping and we couldn't figure out who it was.
So I have a couple of suggestions to fix this.
- Please show who's doing the blue ping. When the guy in my game was doing it and we couldn't figure out who it was, it literally created more tension and drama within our team because everyone was blaming each other. This is a trolling tactic.
- Please reduce the ping limit from 6 to 4. The most I've ever needed to ping at a time is 4, and that was to show direction. If someone doesn't hear the signal after four times, they're probably not gonna hear it after six. 99% of the time, people who ping 6 times are either... a) spamming pings to troll b) pinging obvious stuff that is unnecessary (i.e. pinging fall back when I'm already retreating, or pinging careful 6 times when I'm surrounded by 3 enemies)
- Muting Pings. DO NOT TELL ME TO TURN OFF MY PINGS VOLUME. I'm not going to risk missing out on 3 other teammates' legitimate signals just because someone is being a jerk. And no, this is not what most others suggest, which is just a second mute option. IMO that is a bad idea, especially for those who /mute all at the start of the game. My suggestion is that the second mute option would require you to submit a report. So if you mute someone's pings and they're not abusing it, then you will wind up being forced to send in a false report. IMO that is the best solution to ping spam, since it allows us to mute those who are actually abusing it, while also not allowing people to completely mute everyone's pings just because they don't want to hear it.
