I was perma-banned

Today I was perma-banned for telling a summoner who locked in soraka mid after their yasuo was banned to "kys". I regret my decision to do so and even told the soraka gg and thanked them for helping win the game. I understand Riot has a strict policy against not telling other players to "kys". I regret what i have done because i realize you can't get angry over a video game like that, and my account ive had since season 3 with over $1000 dollars spent on it was banned. I know i would've gotten a second chance if my account was younger but all of my warnings were wasted away when i was B5 and didn't care about getting warnings or even if my account was banned. Currently this game is the only way for me to connect with friends since i recently just moved away from a city i lived at for 8+ years. I'm not asking to get unbanned immediately because i understand what i did was wrong and against the rules, but i would like to have a second chance. My account is old and i wasted all my warnings years ago when i didn't care about this account. i tried to contact riot support but they told me there was nothing they could do and to try and make a thread to reach out to a riot member. Again, i don't want to be unbanned right awa. I just want to receive a 4 week suspension, then something like a chat restriction for antoher 4 weeks. I think riot should take into account that some accounts are old and shouldn't be held to such strict standards when there are pro players out there who flame constantly with no punishment because they weren't reported. So please riot, take it easy on me and instead of throwing me in the cellar to rot, give me a chance to redeem myself to show you i can be the model player you guys are asking for.

You told someone to kill themselves because they picked something you didn't like in a videogame. It's good that you regret doing it, but you really should've thought about what you were going to say and the repercussions for doing so before you hit enter.

I think riot should take into account that some accounts are old and shouldn't be held to such strict standards when there are pro players out there who flame constantly with no punishment because they weren't reported.

These are two invalid arguments - one of which you invalidated in the same turn as you brought it up.

Those pro players don't get punished because they don't get reported. No report = no reason to review = assumedly no reason to punish them. The people in those higher tier games don't particularly care as much about toxicity, and it's within each individual player's jurisdiction who they want to report.

Them being okay with flaming doesn't excuse you telling someone to kill themselves - especially when you got punished, meaning that someone reported you for it, meaning that someone wasn't okay with it.

The other argument is ridiculous. So people with old accounts should be able to break the rules with more leniency than everyone else? If your account is so old, you should know the rules, and should consequently know not to break them. That you should know the rules means that you should be held to them more strictly than those who wouldn't know the rules.

As far as I know, though, Riot takes the middle-ground - no leniency for newer players or older players. Everyone has to follow the same rules, everyone gets the same types of punishments for the same kinds of offenses.

...give me a chance to redeem myself to show you i can be the model player you guys are asking for.

Hate to break it to you, but they already gave you that chance. You ignored previous warnings, and blew your last chance in a pretty massive way.

The permanent ban is gonna stick.

I told someone to end their life over a video game (before the game even started I might add), but I think I'm a good guy, and shouldn't be banned.

"Logic"

Your boo hoo story about connecting with friends I'm afraid isn't gonna give you any sympathy either... And your tenure doesn't give you the right to tell someone to end their life b/c of a raka midlane pick XD

delusional...

You can have my sympathy, but it is not going to help much.

Riot's policy is harsh and borderline unreasonable, you would have trouble reaching to them even if your permaban was a borderline mistake - it's a stigma that doesn't come off lightly.

"Justified" permabans not ever getting removed is, technically a lie. Riot has a very limited control group of players who had their account permabanned in the past and now have their second chance(NA only). Your chances to be part of the group are, like, zero, considering that you have already contacted support.

These players have the same position as two-week-banned ones. They can't have even a midly bad day(let alone telling someone to kill himself, lol), because riot is watching them with "please, dare to make a wrong step" attitude.

And if this group somehow manages to display that most of them are saint, you are likely to have another chance as well. One day. And that chance is going to be very easy to waste.

Considering all of the above, you are free to not lose hope to get unbanned before you die and create a new account.

I hope you'll change your attitude towards the game and learn to treat your teammates like environment. You can't be angry at environment.

I wanted to say thank you guys for all your feed back. Although I do hope my account one day is unbanned, I understand my actions were wrong and will learn from this to be the model player Riot wants me to be. Better luck next time !

The IFS has a natural way to descend the punishment tiers. It takes between three and six months of positive/neutral behavior while playing regularly to descend one punishment tier.

The four tiers are: 10 Game Chat Restriction 25 Game Chat Restriction 14 Day Ban Permanent Ban

Permanent Bans are only removed or reduced if they were applied in error, there is no other way to remove a permanent ban.
