What is the best way to Reform?

Hello Everyone,

Recently I received a 14 day ban. I have never been banned nor chat restricted in the many years I have been playing this game. I am not disputing the ban, and want to reform because I am ultimately afraid of getting perma-banned for another offense, be it minor or major. I understand that I need to reform, but could use some help understanding how. Should I just stop chatting altogether, because I don't want to risk getting reported for any reason. Or should I try to be positive in games and strive to get honored? Does being a positive and helpful player, and being honored for it, help shorten my reform time? Any help would be appreciated, because, like I said, I do not want a perma-ban. That would make my many years on the rift a waste of time and money.

Sincerely, XiaoBaeXiao

Glad to know you admit it was deserved, unlike some of the other QQers here. Ignore them. Anyways, as for games, I'd suggest still chatting, out of communication reasons. Encourage/praise people when they get kills/objectives/do well/etc. If they make a mistake and you were watching, gently tell them tips (for instance, how it's better to back instead of push too far if you get a kill on the enemy laner and don't have vision of potential jungler ganks, etc) if you think they can handle it./reassure them it's fine (don't worry/no problem/etc). If you get upset with things, that's fine, I understand, but no matter what you do, keep it out of the game. Go vent/shout/do whatever in real life (unless it'd disturb others around you), but keep it out of the game. If someone is being toxic/rude/etc, then just mute them and keep playing. Retaliation is also grounds for punishment, and is not worth it. And if you feel the need to, just report them at the end of the game and move on. It's unlikely you'll ever see them again anyways.

it's impossible to "reform" with the current system in place. you have at least 1 year before you are considered "reformed" and any reports in that year will get you banned again

Remember that raging in chat does nothing useful. If anything, you are making g things worse.

As someone who is also on their last chance let me explain to you that reports mean nothing if you've done nothing wrong. Months ago when I got the 14 day ban and realized perm was next I immediately just tried to reform by myself not around riot's system. I typically just muted potential toxic people or all 9 all together and focused on playing the game. I also played a lot less so I could feel enjoyment from this game instead of grinding and getting a worse attitude as the day progressed. I feel great that I have been positive for so long and hope I get to officially "reform" soon.

The most recent information is that the punitive system considers a punished player to be unreformed until they frequently play games without receiving valid reports against them. RiotNeuroCat also mentioned there is no specific timetable for when an account is considered reformed so it really does appear you just need to get out there and play some good games.

If turning off chat or staying out of ranked (or whatever stresses you out) is what you need to do to accomplish this then go for it.

mute all if ur tilted and if anything just say nothing and afk. hate to say it probably get down voted too but being afk and getting a 10 minute queue (or whatever it is)is much better than never being able to play again because you said something you'll regret.

Well at least you know what got you in your current state is. The answer, you answered it your self. Mute, being positive in game and a simple GJ work fine. You appear to know what is at stake and how you got here. So don't get tilted and if you tend to walk away. Come back on later after you calmed down. I been doing that a lot as of late. Better then a report. Still doesn't fix the broken system but at least it won't break you.

Something that helped a friend reform was talking out loud. We have a mumble server for when we play. Rather than tell people in game they were idiots or whatever toxic reply, he would say it out loud to me. Rather than tell your teammate in game what you think, which a) tilts them, and b) helps you get banned. He would tell me what he thought. This saved him from being toxic and helped him feel better. It also helped him to realize what was actually coming out of his mouth.

I have never heard of a case where a player gets "reformed" and roit never stated how much time needs to pass or how meny games you need to play. As far as we all know we just might be perma banned from all hextech loot now and forever. I played alot of games and alot of time past from my punishment and still branded as a toxic player even though I been a good little boy since then.
