Incredibly Avoidable Obstacles
Just finished a game with a self-proclaimed first time Swain (or first time Swain in a very long time) and an Ahri who had laptop issues, namely that the client was too big and thus he couldn't choose runes/summoner spells. I'm not sure whether I'm alone on this but this really grinds my gears since both of which are incredibly easily avoidable.
I'm not sure about you but if I were to first time LoL on a new (or rather, super old by Ahri's descriptions) laptop, I would never first time PvP incase anything wrong happens with the client. It just seems so easily avoidable had Ahri taken the time to play her first game on Co-Op, Custom or even Practice Tool. You'll run into basically any kind of issue if you do that and thus you'll be able to fix anything that does happen. Same thing with Swain, if you haven't played someone in a long time to the point where you have to ask what abilities do, chances are you're far better off doing maybe 10 to 15 minutes in Practice Tool; there's a reason why such a tool exists.
I know it sounds like I'm getting worked up on just a mere normals loss but honestly, where it happens doesn't bother me; whether it's ranked or normals, rather how easily it could've been avoided had the said player been a bit more considerate to his/her future teammates. But apparently this seems to be quite scarce. I mean I refuse to play even in unfamiliar environments since I know it'll affect my gameplay (thus I tend to stay away from places like internet cafes).
So my question is, to people like this, do you honestly not feel obliged to do these things before you play PvP? Do you honestly not consider whether very easily avoidable issues may ruin the experience for other people?
