Emotes cost RP? Guess I'll stick to flaming in the chat...
Now seriously, this is wasted potential, I keep thinking just how cool these things are, how much room for expression they give but they cost RP...[slayer-jinx-unamused]

and that is a problem why? ....also i hope you were joking in your title or the result will be you wont have to worry about emotes costing rp with a banned account.
I suspect that Riot intends to use emotes as a more satisfying reward than summoner icons. Basically, anything that would result in a nearly-invisible summoner icon will instead have a much more visible emote. It probably costs them the same to make, too.
Well, you can get them from chests, I think. And from I've heard, since next season when you level up a champ's mastery you will also get a chest, so 7 possible chests from each "fresh" champ; though I am not too sure.
Emotes costing RP is also not that big of a deal, the problem is that it seems a bit overpriced with the current pricing tag.
I think a lot of peoples problems is that they hyped up the emotes so much, made them seem like something super and great that everyone could get, and then made them cost rp which not everyone can get. And there's no way to gift emotes as of right now either. Sure, you can gift rp, but not everyone would want to do that all for one emote if at all.
Right? Like why should we have to pay for things that people put time and effort into?
