Just a thought but should a support leaving the lane for extended periods of time due to adc being bad be considered as griefing or intentionally giving up. As a adc this is a death sentence, and i know there are a few reasons for them to do this but if for extended periods of time due to the adc being bad should they be punished.

Anyone can go anywhere on the map that they want as long as they are not intentionally trying to lose the game.

I'm a support main, I am not the ADC's bitch, I am the team's support.

If my ADC is bad, I'll make a point to roam aggressively with the mid and jungler, and even the top laner depending on which champ I'm playing. I won't abandon bot lane outright, but I'm sure as hell not going to remove my potential impact from my team's chances if my ADC is a non-factor.

As far as the rules go, as long as the support is fulfilling the vague outline of what that role means, they're fine.

If the ADC is playing bad, does it not make more sense to get another lane(s) fed to carry the game?

No, the support (while typically played as a babysitter to us ADCs) is allowed to make plays around the map. You can ask them to play with you and let you have your 2v2 lane because of actual concerns, but ultimately you need to play safe on that.

This is kind of like trying to flame your jungler as the mid laner because you are getting camped and are essentially 1v2.

Furthermore there are supports who excel at roaming and are designed around it. Punishing supports for trying to support other members on the team is counter-intuitive.
