Banning people for toxicity

It would be amazing if yall added a system that stops toxic players from chatting at all for like a month. That way it would fix the communication problem and players who really enjoy the game could still play and learn their lesson. if they still do it after that month then a perma ban would be very suited. Having a 2 week ban seems very harsh for someone who may have dropped the f-bomb or sad " f - a - g" i would appreciate to see what yall think about this. I think it is tough to keep your calm when your teamates int on purpose and tell the enemies to kill them in all chat.

You CAN be banned for 14 days or permabanned by being repeatedly midly negative, doesnt have to be hardcore zero tolerance slurs.

If you dont learn your lesson with 10+25 chat restrictions and/or a 14d ban, 30d ban or 30d chat restrictions wont change anything. Iirc, there were some studies that helped determine 14d is the optimal ban duration to open the eyes and cooldown. Its like LeaverBuster, 5x20 min is not a random choice, theres some psychology behind it.

Anyone struggling to not break rules also have several tools and tweaks to prevent themselves from flaming. If they cant help it despite having warnings, punishments, settings, that means the issue is rooted in their personal behavior and they shouldnt play a multiplayer competitive game.

As a reminder, in 2014-2015, Riot tried gigantic chat restrictions, like thousands of chat restrictions + ranked restrictions. It was not efficient enough since toxic players would disrupt normal games and/or sabotage games otherwise.

Staying cool under stressful conditions comes with experience. Throwing racial or homophobic slurs at your boss for instance, because he's stressing you out in real life, would be a rather certain way to get fired. Or in the case of a video game, get permanently banned.

You cannot control what others are doing in a game, even if they are flat out trolling on purpose, and offending them won't make any difference if they aren't playing the way you want them to.

Or you could just mute and problem solved? too many people crying because someone said something mean to them when 90% of the time they are getting called out because of a bad play they made.
