People will report you, even without a clear motive to fix the issue themselves.

So what's the deal with players who report flaming, spamming, salty players ... etc, but never mute said players to say perhaps spare themselves from the toxicity and instead end up reporting them? I can't understand such players getting banned for being toxic, while players who are able to go free with intentional feeding or 'trolling'.

Though of course intentional feeding and trolling are both behaviors, that's somewhat harder to distinguish. It seems like the mute button is left unused and yet players are still getting banned due to their obviously avoidable ill-mannered behavior. Whereas reporting can prove effective, but shouldn't the players themselves even 'try' to do something about it, before they set their intentions to report those players?

If anyone can clear this up for me, then please do.

spite.

I report out of spite. I throw the book at people the same way I feel the book was thrown at me.

Honestly, I don't get bothered by someone flaming/being a jerk in chat towards me or a teammate. I never mute them but always report because the game is much better without the like of those. That's just me though :p
