So I recently got a 25 game restriction. I legit am not a toxic person, despite my spotty history with LoL in general. A while back I was having it out with Lyte when I was unfairly barred from my earned rewards, and his cheerleader brigade was publicly harassing me on ask.me without a finger being lifted by him to discourage toxic behavior. The substance of the logs I'll post is equivalent to bickering and banter, and the worst part about it is you don't see what other people say in return. Likewise, I saw no pop up about them likewise getting restrictions or punishments. I'm guessing Riot's old policy of 'Everyone is wrong' is gone the way of the dodo since that is how you are supposed to foster improvement in the community as a whole; All people are responsible for their own actions and thus if you throw it back at them you're just as at fault. Unfortunately when it comes to the 9 other players in game, people pick sides and reports get stacked in favor of one of the two parties involved and the punishment is unfairly awarded to only one of them. I'll be linking what I have from Riot's chat log of what I said, so it must be taken entirely out of context. This, objectively, means it should be taken with a grain of salt, as judging by what I said you must accept that I was being antagonized or otherwise instigated, and that without a full chat log the full gravity of what occurred cannot be rightfully judged. For the sake of some arguments, here's a link to my recent match history: https://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-history/NA/92227

Game 1: Match details: https://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/2966953152/92227?tab=overview Chat log: https://pastebin.com/strDCyWL If you do look, I have been spamming Camille in ranked. I do like her, but her clearing is absolutely atrocious and if she doesn't snowball, she quickly becomes irrelevant and does nothing. She is so dependent on items and an early lead, that she cannot recover. I know this. You can see it in my history. Later, after the game, I looked at our Camille player's history, to see if his bragging had any weight to it. If you also look, you will see, he's terrible and doesn't learn to pick other champions who can recover when they fall behind. I stopped playing Camille in the low tiers because of how incompetent teams are when it comes to coordinating in Bronze. It was at a point where I was starting pre-game chat with "For the sake of my sanity, please react and respond to my pings and follow my calls for objectives." It was often ignored. You can assume how well the game progressed from there.

In this match we got completely destroyed on bot lane after a few bad hook combos and we were really far behind. As a result we needed assistance, but because, as stated, Camille is reliant on ganks and snowballing, she couldn't help us. He said something to the tune of "you're stupid she clears fast with tiamat" which, she doesn't, and that item is 1400 gold away after you buy boots and chilling smite. That snowballed infinitely and I reminded Camille that we needed pressure, but Camille can do literally nothing. I've played her in games where my team has been 0-2 to 0-4 before 6 minutes and it's pretty much game over from there unless I can clench some kills. He constantly engaged into fights he would never win, and proceeded to complain about the bot lane and how bad we were. Obviously the enemy was going to push hard with no threat of a jungler ganking them, and that's what they did. They hardly even warded in our area because they knew if Camille even tried to show up she was 4 levels behind and had no items. Just looking at his history he doesn't learn from his mistakes and he's got games with over 10 deaths being the norm for his Camille plays.

Game 2: Match details: https://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/2965352775/92227?tab=overview Chat log: https://pastebin.com/fxwB15bj Oh boy, this guy. So, we had Sylas picked on our team and everyone on the team BEGGED to not have Sylas. But nope, the 6-game(now 9 games) 33% win rate (33%) Sylas main had to have his golden boy. The game started with a lack of any assistance and I was VERY low on HP. I couldn't figure out why. When he left the lane, I walked up and just last hit and froze the lane, but OH NO CAN'T HAVE OUR JUNGLER DOING THAT! Proceeded to flame me for it, holding his wave just between the walls of river on our side. He talked big about how Kat was dumb for going Dark Seal, thinking she was going to win the lane. Funny, cause that's exactly what she did, and he died solo at 6 minutes. The game was a farce and Kat just ruined us. Later in the post game you can see we got pretty hard into it but his allegedly 32 year old player clearly demonstrates his maturity and skill, and that 4 people are wrong for telling you don't pick Sylas because he's bad. Which, evidence by this game, he is, and by how he plays, the player is also bad. I own up to being bad at Camille in the Jungle, but at the same time I player her as a risky gambit and understand what can happen if I do fail to perform.

Game 3: Match details: https://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/2966182919/92227?tab=overview Chat log: https://pastebin.com/13idEPUd As stated at the start of the match. The previous game had me with a team who refused to even look at the minimap when I was spamming pings. I called every invasion perfectly, set up wards to prove it, and still was largely ignored. The enemy Kindred walked all over us, easily preventable from a simple walking up from the lane by my teammates. At one point I had died to neutrals, wondering vaguely why. I wasn't sure if maybe I had a wrong rune page or something bizarre was happening with how I was taking seemingly an increased level of damage, but it was forgotten quickly. Our Karthus was getting absolutely ruined by the enemy mid, and spammed constantly about ganks or getting help, whining to report me for feeding, losing his lane, etc. The enemy Vi was counterjungling me heavily and I had virtually ceased to exist thanks to being unable to keep up with the jungle camp power growth (which is what I later realized the source of my insane mortality rate). He also complained when he left the lane and I sat there in mid and only last hit 30 hp minions while he walked back to the lane. Quality teammate, but like I said, you can't see the log so objectively you have only my testimony to go on. We lost Veigar really early in the game to a DC and it was pointless to play passed 15, so when I did go back at 14, or respawned after 14, I sat in the fountain. Later in the post game, I said I was going to report Yorick for being a jerk winner, gloating about how easy the game was in a match where his jungler fed him an early gank and our Tryndamere just lost the lane (I couldn't help him after all), and we had a leaver so obviously the game was a farce. This is probably what prompted the enemy team to report me in the post game and I HAD saved the chatlog for a reddit gripe post, but then thought better of it to just move on and forget. How I wish I had saved it to show how toxic they were, and how targeted I was. This is a classic example of bandwagon reporting and making a lynch mob for the sake of malice. Either way I filed a report with their whole team for making a fake report but I know that falls on deaf ears since Riot, years ago, said I make an excessive number of reports that are fake and my reports hold less weight than others. This was because back when I played regularly and pushed for Gold every season, I would report people who refused to follow the team or otherwise threw the game as a deliberate troll. I still do, because when you lose the game on purpose, be in through intentional feeding or refusal to cooperate with the team, I'm sorry but yes that is grieving and you deserve to be punished for ruining the game and wasting an hour of everyone else's life. It happened recently to me, even, in the defeat on Lee Sin in my history. Our vayne decided to solo push middle instead of taking baron when we caught a good fight and she cost us the game when they respawned.

So, after those text walls and explanations of the situations, lets recap based on the pinned message how to best improve my behavior?

Understanding why I was punished: I stand by my statement earlier that a lot of this is banter and is nowhere near toxicity that should be legitimately punished or discouraged. The biggest factor I see here is the trolling factor that reports are more often used for instead of legitimately trying to improve the game. Dota has the same issue.

The punishment: 25 games of restrictions and I had recently unlocked honor rewards again, but nope, gone now. Very harsh all things considered, and the first game I played when I got back into LoL I received a 10 game restriction. From one game. ONE GAME. This system is bogus, not going to sugarcoat it. It's trash, and it still stinks of Lyte and how he ruined any form of player supported policing.

How the system works: It doesn't.

Techniques to avoid punishments: For starters I could just go back to my old standby of /muteall and just play Jungler's PvE adventure, but I found that doesn't work so well. It might avoid chat penalties but it tends to earn me a griever report instead when a salty 0/10 laner who doesn't know how to ward, use the minimap, or breathe through their nose gets the idea that maybe it's my fault that they're bad.

Possible errors: I mean, I say yes, cause this is stupid that I get punished and no one else does. I'd love Riot to post the full chat logs so we can see the entire picture of what's being said, because a one-sided chat log is unfair and I could be getting racist, sexist, homophobic comments thrown at me and no one would ever see them.

Riot policies: Distant memories of Lyte, I would assume, and he ruined the system with his bogus degree in psychology thinking any of it applies to online anonymity and personality clashes. It doesn't take a psych degree to know people online are jerks, and you can't fix it. People have to choose to be mature and cordial, but since there is no incentive to do so, FLAME ON!

Contact support: They'll tell me to go sit and spin.

Reasonable Discussion time! Go!

So because you're anonymous you should be allowed to be an asshole?

So I'll start by saying your survey is a bit skewed. I'd ideally like a basic "yes" answer, as I don't believe there are absolutes, but I also don't know your mindset so I can't say whether or not it was intended maliciously.

#Understanding why I was punished The punishment here is due to a few things.

In Game 1, you're not really too much over the line for most of it, but you spend too much time chastising your Camille in team chat. Yeah, she's having a rough game and/or not helping, and yeah, she may be frustrating you, but that's no reason to constantly put her down.

Then, at the end, you jump to rank shaming and insults. The "you autist" part is especially over the line, as here you go from some belittling comments to outright insults, and that's a strict violation of the rules.

In Game 2 it's clear that you're belittling and insulting teammates in an unacceptable way for much of the game. Here are some examples:

so he blames me for his own uselessness YOU ARE WHY WE LOST WAHHHH IM BAD ITS EVERYONE ELSES FAULT youre fucking bad and you lost us the game when you picked sylas fuck this sylas you're trash fucking millenial scum

That's 100% not okay, and will reliably earn you punishments for insulting behavior. I'm not sure what the surprise is here, honestly. You may not be a toxic person, but in these two games (especially the last half of Game 1 and most of Game 2) you are definitely behavior in a toxic manner.

#The Punishment If you had a prior 10-game chat restriction, this would definitely make sense. If you did not, my estimation is that the use of "autist" as an insult escalated you to the 24-game ban.

#Possible Errors I see no room for possible errors here. The use of "autist" as an insult combined with the behavior in the second game would definitely earn a punishment.

I'm going to read your chat logs here in a moment and offer my thoughts, but before I do that, I want to at least point out a few things.

Unfortunately when it comes to the 9 other players in game, people pick sides and reports get stacked in favor of one of the two parties involved and the punishment is unfairly awarded to only one of them.

Report stacking doesn't exist. The IFS doesn't consider how many reports are filed outside of there being more than zero. If there's at least one report, the player is reviewed. If there's nine reports, the player is reviewed just the same as if there was one report. If there's no report, there's no review.

Plainly speaking, the "context" doesn't matter. Moreover, it doesn't matter why you broke the rules, only that you did. Nobody types for you but you, so your chat logs and behavior are reviewed in isolation from other people's behaviors.

This, objectively, means that whether or not you were being antagonized or instigated only gives an understanding of what led to your actions, not excuses you for them.

That all said, I'm going to read through your chat logs now, and I'll weigh in on the rest of your post. Bear in mind, I'm going to largely disregard your commentary of the situations, not out of disrespect, but out of a mixture of your commentary not being palatable (formatting; the paragraphs need broken up) and out of looking at your behavior objectively with the primary concern being what resulted in the punishment and not what led to you saying something punishable.

It is legitimately toxic behavior under the umbrella of Riots standards of toxic behavior. All we have to go by is the rules, and the rules state that there is no leniency given to individuals that are being provoked. If you feel like youre being provoked into breaking the rules, you need to mute or resist the provocation. Dont take it as a life lesson, or a lesson in morality. Its purely about following the rules that Riot created to help salvage their playerbase and maximize profit.

I was struggling to find what question you're asking, so I hope I'm not off topic with my response here. Hope it helps you understand the rules a little better.
