Should their be some sort of punishment for them in my opinion, and I assume most other people would agree it is a very toxic behavior, that makes people not want to play the game due to the fact that their team handicaps them, and players shit talk them in a game that winning is near zero% chance.

I think it should only contribute a tiny bit to their toxic meter (whether they are punished or not will depends on their account history and where that toxic meter lies). Otherwise, git gud brah.

There had been cases of people being suspended for ggez, etc. Not sure if it still happens, either way, just report them and move on if you want.
